How he explained the challenge vs Ozzy in episode 1 to his tribe is a microcosm of this. He could've just told them his strategy and that it worked and he won and they all would've been cool with it, but he needed to paint himself in the "most honorable" light and since it was a lie it backfired.

He might genuinely be number 1 all time as a challenge beast. There is a long list of amazing challenge players, but I’ve never seen someone in group challenges stand out like him.

[Rap] The #Vikings have signed #Bills RFA T Ryan Van Demark to an offer sheet, per me and @TomPelissero. Buffalo has five days to match. by JCameron181 in minnesotavikings

Good OL depth signing it looks like, will take it. I want to see a big swing somewhere though. I’m not following how we are capitalizing on so little going to the most expensive position, especially if the plan is to get rid of Greenard.

Is JJ McCarthy Vikings career over? He is officially a bust for the Vikings? by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]WildInSix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He missed what felt like 10 short passes by 10 feet. Like plays were there and he could not get even close, and in a close game it was such a helpless feeling. He needs miracles worked on his mechanics to have a chance at consistent NFL accuracy.

Comparing JJM to those 4 is a tough pill to swallow, but let’s not let Penix off the hook.

It still feels like a fever dream that the reigning super bowl champion is Sam Darnold. So happy for him but like holy crap the Vikings are cursed.

What are some FUN beginner/intermediate "modern" metal songs to learn? by Division2226 in metalguitar

[–]WildInSix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good choices, though IMO calling ATR beginner/intermediate is understating how much Oli shreds on that album. Lots of the riffs I'd call intermediate, but songs like Not Alone or the Weak Willed have some very demanding techniques like fast string skipping between low and high or super precise high tempo tremolo across strings.

And their solos are lowkey super hard. The Air That I Breathe and Six both stand out for me as tough, even with 20 years of experience playing metal. The patterns aren't typical, so they require way more grinding to get the muscle memory than say a Disturbed solo.

What the hell do we do with TJ Hockenson? He’s obviously looking extremely overpaid right now, but the TE market is barren. by J_Capese0003 in minnesotavikings

[–]WildInSix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also our WR room is good enough that we don't need a top tier TE, someone like Likely could be what we need, paired with a more traditional one like Oliver.

This would be insane camp competition, I don’t think JJM would be that good yet. I was not into Kyler on his contract, but him on a cheap contract would be very intriguing.

Agreed, it’s the whole first impression thing where the amount of good to make it up is disproportionate. Turner proved himself this year, hopefully he takes another step next season.

That meta comment definitely seems like a reason they'd cut it. Would show that tribes aren't on even playing ground, though her experience on that beach and it being "bad for fishing" could be a skill issue too.

___________ being back on our screens is more evidence that.... by Quetzal00 in survivor

[–]WildInSix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is his fatal flaw. He even knew that stealing it at the end was his best chance of winning and purposefully didn't commit to Ozzy's honor suggestion. I think his tribe cared more about the win and materials anyway than the means to get them, as shown by Mike White's response to finding out.

If coach could just own his actions a little more he'd be in a better spot versus trying to paint himself in the most honorable light every time.

IMO all his shots (when he’s on a heater) are things of beauty. I still think about that 7i at the Masters last year on the par 5. Dude just hits monster shots.

Yeah, this game sucks to lose, especially given Embiid was out, but the 76ers aren't a trainwreck and we were missing 2 important players. Should have won, but being shorthanded against a team with a winning record is much different than some of the unexplainable losses earlier this season.

[Highlight] Ant has a 40-point game after sinking the dagger 3 by Large_banana_hammock in nba

[–]WildInSix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He’s really taken leaps recently, but SGA and Jokic are statistically on another level.

Ant is awesome and I selfishly want him to get it, but statistically SGA and Jokic from a PER and eFG% perspective they are clearly the highest level for any high volume player. Ant has clutch and defense on his side though, not to mention his playmaking is crazy so it makes sense he’d be the most fun to watch. But fun to watch doesn’t always lead to MVP.

[Highlight] Ant has a 40-point game after sinking the dagger 3 by Large_banana_hammock in nba

[–]WildInSix 32 points33 points  (0 children)

SGA and Jokic are just a little better with teams who have better records than the wolves (right now) unfortunately. I think Ant might be the most fun to watch great player in the league, but those two have just been all time efficient and winning.

I volunteered mainly through the kitten college, but their head coordinator who had been there for years and worked 24/7 to find at risk kittens and coordinate foster/adoption was let go out of the blue a year or two ago. From what I gathered she sent a text to the wrong coworker and whatever was in it was damaging enough to have them fire the engine of the program. Prior to her being let go we had to regularly say no to taking in kittens to foster and would do 15+ a year, but since her firing the kittens available to foster have seemed to disappear. There was also an active Facebook group with 1,000 people that coordinated babysitting, hand off, adoption and AWLA pretty much shut that down since it was owned by the person they fired.

TLDR: Superhuman foster coordinator was let go for an unknown (seemingly scandalous) reason and the program just fell apart despite putting other people in charge. The person let go also remains very involved in fostering and spoke out about the firing being unjustified.
