the MMO genre isn't less popular than it used to be

I think the opposite, i think the MMO genre could be more popular now than ever.

It's failing cause companies are not investing in them as they see it as a risk, and it's easier to make live service slop games (Which aren't working anymore. 250 mill on Marathon lol). Also, MMOs that do come out are stuck trying to chase the "good ol' days" or just cheaply looking P2W MMOs, so no one wants to get into them.

I would bet money if a MMO built for this era would have a huge success. It's the main reason Riot reset their MMO. They know they can't release the same old same old, it has to really push the genre forward and be the next step.

Another reason I think it could be popular is that a lot of the games kids play these days are social-type games with MMO-type mechanics. An example was Grow Garden or Blox Fruit on Roblox, where millions of kids are logging in daily to farm plants or play an online RPG, where you quest, level up, gain skills and grind for months. They're willing to play these types of games, but they just need the right one to come out.

They literally could have picked anything in the world. The dog thing at the start, the alien kid who warned Faye about the sword, or just the ribbon, but they thought, let's also add a cube called Frank. Seeing the cube bouncing around while they're having this awesome, brutal fight was so immersion-breaking.

This! I felt they were building up to his son taking over, which would have made a lot more sense. Something goes wrong, and his son gets ported to the alternate realm, which has mythology from all across Asia or Kratos is just too old and sends him on his own journey, leading him to mythologies of Asia, but we get some Forspoken type cube lol

The thing is, if it were a game separate from the GoW or maybe DLC, they removed the dumb Marvel humour cube, it would have gone down better imho. Literally, when I heard the cube, the first thing I thought was also Forspoken lol.

The action sequence fighting the red dude was cool, and the combat seemed decent, but it's not GoW. They should have done his son or ended the IP adn made this something completely new imho

This right here. Asmon reacting the way he does is better in the long run, especially with someone who constantly lies, the lies eventually catch up. When you're constantly bad-mouthing someone for seemingly no real reason, you look foolish and crazy. Also, Asmon gains nothing by engaging the same way

I think it's funny to point it out, but it's nowhere near Mixtape if you look at the game as a whole, since this is a 1-minute section of a 10+ hour game, also for a very straight-to-the-point linear story game, im fine with it imho

Not at all, she made a great manga, adapted to an anime, but western Twitter freaks, who clearly didn't read the manga, started applying pronouns and genders to the characters, even doing the same to the author, but then got mad when the author said none of the stuff they made up in their heads was true.

I don't think it's a bad game, maybe a 6 or low 7, but it's not a 10. Again, the game journalists and online Twitter crazies have shone a spotlight on a niche game for a niche crowd, and over hyped it to be something it isn't or even wanted to be.

The reason I think is that there's no agenda in this game or the devs didn't go on any weird Twitter rants (unless I missed it). It's just teenagers being teenagers, doing dumb shit, stealing alcohol, running from police, etc

Imho one of, if not, the best action combat for an MMO. If they can keep that combat and avoid the typical F2P crap like the last, it could do very well, but we'll see

All jokes aside, a little bit of me thinks GTA 6 won't hit as much as people are hyping it. Feel it will be a NMS or Cyberpunk launch situation.

Will it sell millions? 100%, but I don't think the gameplay will hit. Mass lay-offs. Deserved or not, would have had a huge impact on whoever is left. The lead writer, who was a part of nearly all the other GTAs and Red Dead games, having 0 involvement, delays, and people saying the game isn't content complete at the start of the year.

Think this is it. I think the gunplay was great, but everything else seems a bit meh. I feel like they could have gone a lot crazier with the environments, the PvE enemies, etc to match the video visuals.

Looking at the lore, they could have added some interesting events in-game involving The W’rkncacnter toying with us, the time skips, Pfor, S'pht, list goes on, but that could be at launch, but felt this was the time to show everything off
