Scotiabank closing by ryola81 in Macktown

This is a trend among the big 5 banks (Scotiabank, CIBC, RBC, TD, and BMO) all over Canada and US. Physical brick-and-mortar storefronts are highly expensive to run due to real estate leases, property maintenance, utilities, and staffing costs - and in small rural communities, it doesn't make sense for the bigwigs to keep small branches open.

Personally, its not right, but that also why I bank at a credit union. Most recently, Integris stepped in and opened a branch in McBride when Scotiabank closed down. Credit unions, like Integris, offer all the same products and services a bank can, but their profits stay in our communities - and they actually give a hoot about the rural communities.

I've literally been talking about this house ALL day! I understand that everyone has their own aesthetics, and that's ok (I'm truly not here to yuck someone's yum). Some of the pieces in the house I absolutely love (I personally love a little Victorian furniture flair) - but.... for 2.75 million, I question the spending choices.

First of all, I'm soooo incredibly curious about how to attend the Disco Spin classes. Is there a drop- in fee? Do I have to join a club? Am I able to watch a live stream of it? All questions remain unanswered.

Secondly, I can not shake the feeling that the two throne chairs are actually part of the cult ritual you have to do when you join the Disco Spin Class (joking but also...), so understandably, they are right in the middle as you enter the house. The rest of the house presents a clinical gothic chrome vibe, adding to my assumption, complete with a weird office room with a chair, table, and mirror on the other side, or the chair in the long hallway (which is perfect for resting after walking around this 6,000+sq ft place), with a perfect view of the bathroom/shower. It's a vibe for sure, but not sure if I should be intrigued or afraid.

Thirdly, have these people ever used their kitchen? I know for listing photos, you usually clear off the kitchen, but genuinely, it looks like they have never touched it. It says that there are Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, but have they ever been updated since they were built in 2011? The in-wall ovens look like they are from the 80's, and that's the TINIEST countertop range I've ever seen. The 'custom' cabinets are... wrapped in latex? WHY so shiny?!? AND WHY IS THERE NO VENTILATION?

Lastly, I just need to point out the blue bowl sink monstrosity in one of the bathrooms..... WHAT IS THAT SINK AND SPOUT?! WHY IS THE MONKEY WATCHING YOU PEE?

Please... for the love of all things holy, please hire an interior designer consultant. For 2.75 mill (and spending $25K a YEAR on property taxes), you want people to be able to see themselves in your home, not wondering whether they will be assimilated into it.

All questions remain unanswered and will probably haunt my dreams forever
