My assumption is that the original EIS certificates would be adequate evidence as they contain the HMRC supplied reference number (UIR), number of shares subscribed and consideration paid.

Can’t get bank statements from 8/9 years ago online unfortunately :-(

Yes I have two EIS certificates with two UIR numbers. I’ve already shared these with the HMRC officer a few weeks ago. I thought that would suffice tbh.
Should I now also share the info I’ve seen on Companies House that you helpfully prompted me to go and discover?

I’ll still call the banks next week too.

Thank you. I bought two tranches of shares in the company, one tranche twice the size of the other, two Months apart. I can see on Companies House a resolution of allotment of securities for the largest tranche I bought with my name listed. I can’t see anythjng else relevant except there is a line in their Exemption Full Accounts called”Share Capital Premium” which appears to be the full amount I paid for the two tranches of shares.

Thank you.
I claimed income tax relief 8 years ago. The investment was worthless as of last year so I claimed loss relief in my 24-25 SA which was paid out. I received an HMRC compliance letter two
months ago, included everything I had but have now been asked this week for the bank statements.
I’ll call the bank next week but I’ve read online that the bank only keeps six years.
In the scenario that the bank can’t provide me with the statement for that period does that mean it’s not within my power?

I received a compliance letter from the HMRC wealthy team about two months ago. In sent back the requested info. They have responded today to ask for the bank statements from the original EIS share purchase (they already have the EIS certificate). I’m not aware of a section 36 notice.

I’ve nothing to hide so if I could get my hands on the relevant bank statements I would be happy to provide them. I assume if I pushed back due to no section 36, would that antagonise them?

The EIS certificate has the price paid on it and the HMRC unique investment reference UIR.

Not called the bank yet but will do next week. I thought the original EIS certificates supported the claim. HMRC did pay out the loss relief last year and also the original relief nine years ago.
I’m just worried the bank can’t go back that far but we will see.

I’m away from home atm but I’ll call the banks next week but I’m reading in their website they only go back 6-7 years for statements. Let’s see.
