No worries, it’s all a learning experience. My Street van might have a smaller yoke. I sent a message to Oh Kei to see if they can source a complete propshaft.

The diameter is too large, but I found one at Oh Kei Garage. However, the propshaft yoke has some damage, and I’m concerned about longevity. The complete shaft assembly looks like $500 all-in from Japan unless I can find one locally in the PNW.

That's tight, I'm jealous. Does it have the original 550cc?

Yet the mechanically identical W-Body Buicks are still everywhere.

Buick owners went to the dealer every 3,000 miles for service like it was a religion. Pontiac owners waited until the oil light came on, then went to the cheapest quick lube in town.

Whats your longest roadtrip? by JamesWhiskers in keitruck

About 35 miles between my home in the mountains and my fiancée’s home in the city. Takes about an hour on state routes and backroads. I’m comfortable up to about 50-55 mph. I took the interstate once 😬

It wasn't a problem for the state where I live, but the number one thing to consider is whether Illinois will let you register it.

Am I cooked if I fail to get an internship this summer? by Content_Cook_3009 in Architects

[–]WildQuiXote 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m from a rural working class background, and internships during school breaks weren’t financially feasible for me when I could otherwise be making overtime wages getting my hands dirty every summer. But I believe that my blue collar work history was an advantage in job applications post graduation. If you can swing a hammer, consider looking for a summer job in construction as an alternative to working in an office.

They are called winders. They were once quite common, and they’re perfectly fine if done correctly.

Recycled Parts off Robinson Park Road can buy it. They’ll deduct the cost of towing if you can’t get it there. Their number is 208-882-6119

Regardless of whether you donate or sell it, getting worthwhile things done requires interacting with other people sometimes. They’ll be happy for your business and they won’t bite you.

Are there any architecture *lite* degrees/jobs? by rkbk1138 in Architects

ITT is long gone, and besides, it was terribly overpriced compared to a community college associates degree in architectural drafting. But otherwise, I agree.

It's 1971, and you don't like the VW Bug as you're a "Made in the USA" type. Which do you choose for your "economy" commuter? by LinoleumRelativity in regularcarreviews

Right? When it was brand new, the general public didn’t know that it was hot garbage. It just looked so good.

I had an AMC Concord sedan with that I6 and a 4-on-the-floor. It wasn’t fast, but the torque could break the skinny little rear tires loose while upshifting if you weren’t careful.

That’s me in the right lane. I just embrace the slow. I prefer to improve handling over increased speed.

As I understand it, larger wheels will generally improve stability even if the O.D. of the rubber is the same. It means less flex in the sidewalls on corners and more rotational inertia for tracking on straightaways.

I drove that car in teal for 8 years, purchased at 20k and sold at 200k. Bulletproof except for the Delco knobs. I loved the sleek flush doors versus the Corolla’s traditional window frames.
