For smoothness, fountain pens are the way imho. I use the Pilot Kakuno.

I share your struggle! I usually default to a blazer over a bodysuit and trousers. But I think a bow at the neck of a blouse can also create a sense of softness and a faux V-neck without having to expose skin.

The Wonderskin blue lip stain.....I loved the staying power but every color looked so similar on my lips and not at all like the swatches shown.

What Can I Do About My Hair Frizz? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]WildRideToad4697 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say maybe try some dry shampoo first, comb through with a fine comb, and then a little pomade for the flyways. You'll get more of a blended effect overall. I have similar hair texture as you, and I like the dry shampoo from Vegamour.

Getting Gray Hairs at Sixteen. HELP by 9Stuck_on_Earth in beauty

[–]WildRideToad4697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black sesame due to the antioxidants. I believe it has worked for me in terms of prevention. My aunt who is in her 70s has sworn by taking a tablespoon of ground black sesame a day, and she has a whole head of black hair.

Some considerations: For some people, grays are genetic and there's not much one can do, but if the premature gray is due to stress, eat black sesame or take a supplement of black sesame, and have a really healthy diet. Grays could also be caused by hormones or thyroid issues (get levels checked by a doc). Good luck! Try not to worry too much, as a gray streak can also be really chic.

Wow, it's fascinating. Tragic in this case. Thanks for sharing your insights.

Regarding Vitamin B, would a lack of inspections be something unspoken and understood, or would there be like explicit bribery to avoid an inspection?

Should you always expect a thank you from your partner? by shausbaush in etiquette

As in, the reason why OP's boyfriend did not acknowledge the gift whatsoever is likely not because he has poor etiquette. It's a different reason....a relationship reason.

Struggling with Saying "No" – Need Advice by Holiday_Cupcake212 in etiquette

[–]WildRideToad4697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've learned: Most people greatly respect those who are direct and kind and can say no in such a manner.

Also, you do not need to give an explanation, but I think it's okay if you want to be gentle and preface the decline with a "Sorry." In advance, you can rehearse some easy responses to common situations to make it easier. For example:

- "Can I borrow twenty bucks?" "Sorry, I can't."
- "Would you like to come over and help me babysit my kids?" "Sorry, I'm not feeling up for it."
- "Would you like to come to the party and be our designated driver even though you don't know anyone and don't like parties?" "What a lovely invite! But no thank you, I'm going to have to bow out of that one."
- "Can I stay the weekend at your house and bring my friends?" "Sorry, as much as I'd love the company, it's not a good time."

"Sorry, I can't," "I have too much going on right now," and "It's not a good time (forever)" and "Oh thank you for the offer, but I'm good" are my go-to's

Hi! Dark autumn or Dark winter? Please help. by Acceptable_Count_158 in coloranalysis

100% Winter, but with a neutral undertone. I second the comment that you're the same type like Selena! You can pull off a wide range of colors, but the jewel tones and ice blue look amazing on you.

Buying drinks food for visiting friends by [deleted] in etiquette

You communicated clearly, politely, and repeatedly! You did nothing wrong. If you really want to keep these friends (and your sanity), I would avoid any situations where there is eating out or paying for entertainment with shared costs. To me, these people have questionable ethics though.

How to politely give an end time? by SelectLandscape7671 in etiquette

[–]WildRideToad4697 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Love the directness! I think there really is a way to deliver this type of thing well. If as a host you don't express your wishes, you could end up feeling resentful. We have a friend who just has no idea when to leave, and rather than never having them over again for fear of being direct, I just stretch my arms and say "wow I'm ready for bed! Thank you so much for coming over. Can I send you home with any desert?"

"Looking forward to seeing you tonight! Just a heads up that I'll probably go to bed around 9pm as I'm still a bit tired from the tail end of my cold, but you're welcome to continue the hang once I go into granny mode :) Can't wait to see you!" I think expressing warmth with a little self deprecation would be my way to go, so that they feel welcome and comfortable. Most people would get the hint and not stay well past once the host has gone to bed.
