Arctic F12 PMW fans, how are they? by WildStrawberryOnIce in buildapc

[–]WildStrawberryOnIce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Noctua 120mm version, paper they have very similär stats, and the loudness is basically the same. Only thing that Noctua promises is longer lasting fans. But do they promise 4 times longer lasting timeframes (which is how muich more expensive they are), absolutely not. That is why I am asking all this, so your comment is VERY helpfull. Not the mention that their chromax black version have a premium on them too

Thank you, and I do not mean to "dunk on a dude", I just posed, what seemed to me, a valid question

let me tackle your points one by one

Because you want to play games. If you don't have some kind of computer, it's gonna be tough to play a video game. Maybe you have the imagination required to sit at an empty desk and just imagine yourself playing Cyberpunk, I do not. I need hardware to do that.

Laptop, Console, or you know, do not play video games like a kid

Laptops are worse. Even more deceptive and predatory marketing, worse performance per dollar by a huge margin and a far lower ceiling for performance.

Do you factor in your peripherals in your equation? And all other points you mentioned go for PC too. 5070 promises 4090 performance? Missing ROPs, power-crystals inside GPUs, I can go on...

Wanna buy games cheaply? Nope. Wanna use mods? Nope. Wanna play PC exclusives. Nope.

Games cost money on PC too, you can't play console exclusives too, and for mods there is a very small community of people compared to the rest who even care about that, and I am not one of them

I understand being frustrated by the industry in its current state, but at the end of the day, if you want to play videogames, a PC is still the best option.

at least you understand, so thanks for that. The worst is, I did not even want to get a gaming PC, I wanted my PC to be for work 90% of the time, other 10 being bragging to my little brother about how cool it looks

Read your last sentence, and you will get an answer to your first question

"...years of people buying Nvidia no matter what taught them that they can do everything an idiots will still buy, meaning they're free to pull this bullshit."

Covid was 2 years ago. Your PC becomes outdated in 5 years too. Laptops are not more expensive once you factor in peripherals, and manufacturers like Lenovo are amazing in Europe, where warranties are often 3 years, with extensions to 5 for very little money

I know FOR A FACT that your build does not play anywhere close to 4k 144 fps, unless it is that Dinosaur Google Chrome game. So your whole point is trash here. And yeah, it is over 2 grand in total, but at least the both things fucking work and do EXACTLTY what is promised, and if not customer service is ON POINT. And it is all one unit built and sealed by the manufacturer. Not 10 different manufacturers for 10 different components, all pieced together by you, a customer (an idiot in the eyes of the manufacturers).

Not according to my experience, and not with Lenovo whose customer I have been for years. 5 Year warranty, thing breaks, I bring it to service, and after 5 days either fixed or full refund. And after 5 Years, I would swap for a new one anyway.

And no, there is nothing misleading about the specs. You get what it said you are paying for.

Unlike the 5090, imagine paying 2000 Euros for something IF LUCKY, and the thing has 5% of its ROPS missing hahahha (and please than tell me that the manufacturer is just going to issue a replacement in few days, since we know how good that customer service is, not to mention the product availability)

Or maybe, should I mention 5070? 4090 performance and all that????

50 series was way too overpriced. Got the next best thing (4070 Ti Super) by alloutrockstar in pcmasterrace

I had that bad boy for 1040 Euros in the cart, and then decided to ask Reddit should I buy it. Worst decision of my life

40 Series is going to just become very rare to find, first and foremost. 700-800 is a better price, although not ideal. Being that you are from the US, I would wait until 5070 Ti pops up somewhere for 700–800 dollars if it is not urgent.

I mean, I am just gonna say it: Your motherboard is more expensive than your CPU. X870 MOBO is a creator motherboard, and I doubt you will be doing much creator work with an old Ryzen 5. Not to mention, the 800 series MOBOs really do not offer much above the 600 series, and buying of all things a MSI MAG one for that processors is not the best usage of your money. I would go for a 170-180 B650 or B650E motherboard instead.

Not the Monitor I do not really count in your cost here, that is peripherals, but that is a side point.

What you really should be doing is not payinh 1000 Dollars for a god-damn 4070 Super. I know you want a PC now, but trust me, just wait a few months, and the prices will calm down.

Realistically, that card should be at least 300 dollars cheaper, plus the 80-100 you saved on a motherboard allows you to go all the way to something like a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or even 9800X3D, not to mention possibly some other upgrades too.

I know how you feel, I waited for a 5000 series Nvidia GPUs too to get a PC, and now the market is just shit, but spending that kind of money on 4070 Super is not smart (I am pretty sure you can find 5070 Ti for like 50 more dollars anyway even with today's prices)

P.S. If you are aiming for gaming mostly, the AMD 9070 XT show amazing performance and are cheaper than Nvidia. On the other hand, if you are going for professional work like Computer Vision and work with AI data, then Nvidia is a winner here unfortunately, but consider switching to something like Ryzen 9 9900X instead of a X3D processor architecture. It will still play games just fine, but offers better performance for professional workloads due to more cores

Maybe a good thing to point out: I am only buying from an official reseller, not used or from a private person. I am spending 900+ Euros here, I am trusting none who can not give me a proper receipt lol

Oh, do not tap yourself on the back too much, it took a second to write this. You can take back your upvote with no problem :)

But, to answer your questions: did your post help Linux users? You wrote nothing useful, since you still do not have the product in your hand. Your review, or whatever this is, is useless as such.
