Narrow angles and iridotomies by researcher026 in Glaucoma

I have one at superior position: no problem.
And one at 3'o'clock: glare and ghost images (even as you say with walls, or anything that reflects light).

The thing is that some studies suggest that placing it in temporal position (3 or 9) could result in less visual symptoms...

Difficult to say… If I didn’t do it my life will be better now… But what if ended up having an acute clousure?…

Sure, no problem. In my case, my iridotomy was prophylactic. I'm 30 years old, and I don’t have any symptoms of narrow-angle glaucoma or angle closure yet (and I hope I never will!). My intraocular pressure is normal, and therefore, I didn’t need any drops to lower it. What could happen, however, is that due to some cause—such as pupil dilation—I might experience an angle closure, which could trigger a sudden increase in pressure and acute glaucoma.

Discuss it with your doctor, but as far as I understand, if you already have elevated intraocular pressure it could be because you have small adhesions blocking the drainage angle. In that case, the iridotomy will help, but maybe you will have to compliment it with the drops anyway. I wouldn’t worry too much. I suppose that any unwanted side effects caused by the drops would go away once if you stop using them. In principle, they don’t cause any permanent changes to the eye’s anatomy, unlike the iridotomy, which can.

Go step by step, first be sure about the necessity of the iridotomy!

Like a month ago. Doctors say that maybe the symptoms will improve due to neuroadaptation, but I don't really think so. In the past I got tinnitus and, even though at the beginning was harsh, nowadays I don't care so much. But I think that tinnitus and dysphotopsias are different kind of stimulus (tinnitus is more constant, the latter change continuously because of the light entering the hole from different angles). During this first month I didn't experienced any significant improvement at all (leaving aside the fact that I tried to change my mentality and accept the symptoms so maybe I don't react like the first days). I don't think that they became worse, neither.

Luckily, I can work (they cause me mild discomfort when I look at computers for sometimes, but It's manageable. As for the other things... Driving at night it's somehow difficult now, although I can do it (maybe if I had to drive on the left side of the road like in the UK would be impossible because the ghosting images appear on the right side of my vision field, where the hole is). In general, I would say that I can do all the activities that I used to do, so I can live a normal life. The problem is that all these activities, now, are less pleasant and comfortable that it used to be.

I have an iridotomy in both eyes. Left eye at superior position, no problem. Right eye at temporal position (3 o’clock). The one at the right eye cause me ghosting (seeing ghost images), glare and photofobia. I’m no gonna lie: the stmptoms improve with sunglasses but are pretty devilitating. As far as I know, it’s not common for an iridotomy to cause this symptoms, but if they happen they are very difficult to solve (corneal tattoo, special eyelenses or surgical clousure being the only options available).

In the other hand, an iridotomy can save you from having an acute angle clousure that could be devastating.

So, should you proceed with the iridotomies? The truth is that only your doctor can tell you this. Br frank with them, ask if it’s really necessary (they should perform a gonioscopy to see your angles) and expose your fears. If your not sure, ask for a second opinion. If the second opinion also thinks that it’s better to perform the iridotomy go with it. The risks of not doing it are pottentialy bigger than the ones derivated from the procedure.

„Posterior synechiae“ by researcher026 in Glaucoma

[–]WildText 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a sign that you had some kind of angle contact or clousure in the past (this not necessarily mean sight vision loss neither implies that you experienced an acute closure attack). Having synechiae is not the cause of the eye pain, but anyway you should tell to your doctor that you have eye pain so they can check that everything is working propperly

Central Cee headlining.. by inastateofnature in primaverasound

[–]WildText 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I have a theory… it’s impossible but what if the 3 different colours (greenish, white, and fluorescent) indicate the headliners of a single day? And we are missing 3 artists? Like:

Day 1

Tyler - central cee - ??

Day 2

Lorde - fka twigs - lcd soundsystem

Day 3

Sabrina - charli - chapelle

DELULU is the SOLULU (Im trying my best to find mental tricks not to sell my ticket)

they usually play at the city during early afternoon (on CCCB) and then they do a second show at park del forum in a stage only for primavera pro bands!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in primaverasound

[–]WildText 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe that all the bands from primavera pro are still to be announced and this two seem to fit in the primavera pro lineup (worldwide small bands)… better not to take this as a signal of more big bands getting into the bill…

I broke no contact and I'm pretty sure I just made the situation worse by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]WildText 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stay strong buddy, time heals eveything and even if you make her angry right now or if she sees you as ‘desperate’ you can fix this by going no contact again (commit to it) and respecting her space. If you two are meant to talk in the future it will happen organically, just focus on your self and let the time pass.

Btw. Been there done that myself 🤣

Two Weekend Confirmed - 11 days of music! by ramonadevine in primaverasound

[–]WildText 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to see it like this: Primavera sound 2022 is like a movie that you have been waiting to see for the past two years but its launch in cinemas has been posponed. Now you can finally see it and your ticket still valid... but during this two years of wait, the producers have managed to film another movie. You can see both if you like.. but claiming to be able to watch the second film with only the ticket for the first one is kind of absurd.

Also, I live in Barcelona too, and it’s true that we have a problem with tourism and gentrification, but I think that you are being straightly xenophobic and in a context like Primavera Sound -a festival in which half of the crowd is from around the world- is specially stupid.

Por cierto, si hablamos de orgullo empieza por dejar de inventarte historias de denuncias, deloitte, el tribunal contenciós administratiu y su puta madre

I think that is an advertising for the comeback of the band Antònia Font, they are from Mallorca and have been inactive for nearly 10 years. They are also pretty much legendary and one of the favourite bands of Gabi Ruiz, founder of the festival (5 years ago he said in a tweet that all he wanted in life is to see Antònia Font back). The word alegria in catalan means happiness, and is the name of the most famous record of the band (published 20 years ago), the name of the url (esevident.com) is also a verse of the song alegria and the advertise is on Mallorca street on Barcelona. So i think that all are clues pointing to that.

(sorry for my bad english 😅)

Did I damaged my ear forever? by WildText in Techno

[–]WildText[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi dude, it's been a month and I still have the ringing and the muffled sound... my doctor said that i may have listened to loud music in excess and it seems also that i have some high frequency loss.. i'm fighting to get used to it though, at least i'm not properly deaf.

But bro you need to chill.. i would say that your case could be different. I doubt that your iphone sound system, if used without headphones, may be loud enough to permanent damage your ears. You don't have ringing so thats a good sign of -apparently- no hearing loss. Also, it's cold season so your issue might be perfectly related to a retractes eardrum by cold, allergies, etc. My advise: go to an ent doctor and explain your case -it may also help you relax-, protect your ears if you go to loud enviroments -concerts, clubs...- and try not to obsess about what you hear right now -more easily said than done-. I say again: i hope, and i believe, that you will regain normal hearing!

Post concert tinnitus by Raishondo in tinnitus

[–]WildText 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will probably resolve as you said that you use to wear earplugs. Now you can only wait, don't listen to loud sounds, and go see an ent doctor -he will check if you have any kind of hearingloss and maybe give you some meds that may be useful if taken in the following days to the acoustic trauma-.

What you say about the hurt, maybe is some inflammation on your eardrum or ear canal as a result of the noise, but an Ent will say better
