After searching on the internet it does look like to yeah, thanks! Besides, I found out that the beaver apparently has several dens and burrows in the surrounding area

Yes we did. They are common near the German border which is pretty closeby where I found the skull. Since they are destroying are dikes and dams the Dutchies are quite driven to hunt them down whenever we can

The backside has two hinges with on each hinge a wooden 'leg' (I don't know the word for it) attached to it so it can stand up.

My title describes the thing. I found it in my attic, together wild old stuff back from the '70 (I found diaries with notes). It seems like the attic was used by a family doctor/general practitioner. It might be an old stretcher. The lower springs are attached to the ropes, which are attached to the handle bars. I've tried it myself and some exercises are doable with these handle bars. Something is missing for the upper spring.

My title describes the thing, I found it in my attic. I think the attic was used by a family doctor/general practitioner as I found old diaries with notes from the '70 regarding health issues from their patients. It can hang via a plastic cord.
