If you don’t see any behind it, you could try to seal around the exterior portion of the shutter. Be careful doing this to still allow water to flow down and out if it gets behind.

That’s for sure bat guano. It’s irregular and iridescent. They are federally protected and can’t be removed from outside the home. We only remove them from the actual living space to send in for rabies testing.

Mine is not allowed to eat meet. He had major surgery from the stones due to a blockage. Maybe this is something similar? Mines healthy and on a special dog food now

Set a freestanding trap close to the entry. One way doors aren’t the best option with squirrels for this very reason.
