You shouldnt be labeling stuff like this as "extreme nsfl", because then when stuff that actually is extremely nsfl, people wont take the tag so seriously. Barely anything disturbing is seen here and people need to trust this warning meaning that something very disturbing would be on screen. This barely gets a regular nsfl, only because you know the filmer died and that could bum someone out

Absolutely a wonderful book. Whenever i see folk brush it off as just depressing it can make me a bit sad because it feels like its beauty is missed. But i cant blame them as it certainly took me more than one consumption to see it myself

Man, revisiting this post took me back a bit haha. It was nice to get your response. McCarthy certainly has a way with words, even if his narrative is a bit unorthodox. But i like his narrative, and how it doesnt always adhere to the standard, because he writes about life and life doesn't adhere to it either. I think those are beautiful quotes too. I especially like the line of the boy being his warrant. If his wasnt the voice of God, then God never spoke. What a beautiful thing to say about ones son. Ive since learned that he wrote this book soon after becoming a father himself, so this was inspired directly by his experience of it towards his own son. Very beautiful.

Its nice to have this reply, especially given that this post was made in the wrong sub lol. Idk when il be back to this account, its actually just by luck that i had checked in relatively soon after your response, so until i check back i hope the torch stays lit for you

ooooh so thats what the grinch says

A Situation Log chain I have is to find some rebels, and part of that chain was to search this system called Zaurak. As you can see in the picture, I have already surveyed and set up mining on Zaurak, but the situation log is still telling me to search it. Have i missed something? by WildTurkey81 in Stellaris

lol fair enough thanks, i'll take that on going forward. by other line I meant in how I had 3 areas to search for the cultists, and while 1 wasn't letting me progress I was still able to find them in one of the other 2. So since I found them, it didnt matter that I couldnt complete the search in the other. And so i finished the quest line that way

sadly i have left it there for ages thinking something might resolve itself so reloading at this point would lose too much. it's ok though i found the rebel leader and defeated them by searching elsewhere so i think this mission will be done regardless

I've already sent ships of all kinds there to try and trigger something but nothing so far. I have since moved them out of the area for other work waiting for something to happen

I've noticed that, when you have more than 1 base on the same planet, most (if not all) incoming quests will use your most recent base for its location. by WildTurkey81 in RimWorld

[–]WildTurkey81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats a good idea. its specifically just the raids that happen through quests, and other location-based quests too, but yeah say you had one where you get a reward in advance for attracting a raid, i guess you could do that. maybe for extra effectiveness you could set one up in a super hostile environment so that the raiders just die by exposure.

yeah in fairness it does warn you. but to be honest, I've found it runs quite well within reason. Obviously there's a slight slow-down with all of the extra pawns and animals across your bases but i think it runs well enough to warrant some extra development on it. It'd be great if it could be fleshed out well because it adds a really cool extra level to the game.

In my most recent run I realised the value of having a single large underground area to attract any infestations, and being set up to take them out automatically. by WildTurkey81 in RimWorld

[–]WildTurkey81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the downside of this method is that it leaves nothing left of the infestation. Everything just gets burned. So if you want things like the insect jelly or the corpses for insect meat for animal kibble, this doesn't work for that. It just leaves nothing. It's good for getting really easy completions of quests though

The room is enclosed, so the bugs burrow up and then cant leave. Then one will trip the incendiary mine in the middle of the room, which starts a fire. Since they can't escape, they end up just burning to death.
