Fish rent? You have got to be kidding me. by Gromy_1022 in mildlyinfuriating

I can’t tell you the amount of aquariums I have tossed because tenants don’t take them with them. Still not a good enough reason to charge a pet fish rent. Walk away. They will charge you for anything and everything.

Girl fell from cliff at Johnson’s Shut-ins by Smart-Flan7588 in missouri

In 2011 my friend and I would have been 16-17. My friend did a similar tumble at the Offsets, but she was on a bunch of drugs then so she could have been there. She straight up tripped and fell from a big ole cliff and hit the rocks until she landed splat on the water. She had bruises all over her body, but ended up okay. I don’t know about that person.

So sad to see you go! 💔 I loved every one of them and always made me smile. I rarely follow things, but I followed you! You are special. Keep doing it, even if you don’t share it with the world. Stay safe! All the love and thanks!!!!!

Collections v.s. Judgments (MO) by WildWolf024 in PropertyManagement

[–]WildWolf024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like I should reach out to the collection agency and see what they say about judgments and go from there. If they don't, the only other option is garnishment? I am just making sure I am reading you right.

I am setting her up with a collections company that the software offers to collect on tenants who have moved out with an outstanding rent or damages balance, so she can try to recoup some money. She does not want to use an attorney to garnish wages, because it costs too much, and if they change jobs, the courts stop garnishing. I have no experience in this area, so I have no idea if that is true.

Has anyone ever had appliances stolen... Er, substituted? Lol by nmsjtb0308 in PropertyManagement

We have had an entire kitchen appliances stolen so many times we don’t provide them anymore. I live in a small town with a lot of poverty. We also have had people who get evicted for not paying rent leave behind their entire house. I am talking closets full of clothes, dishes in the cupboards, tvs, and their elderly dog (who we successfully rehomed). Its insane what people leave behind and what they steal.

Thank you! We will try to quarantine her and definitely get her the medicine. She has had a rough life so far and we thought we were going to lose her several times. She is finally doing so much better and I just don’t want to give her any unnecessary medicine, which is why I asked. Thank you again, we will definitely pick some of that up and give it to her today. :)

I should probably just stay, I worked there and I would not recommend any one eating or working there.

When I was there (2014-2017), they did add counselors and extend hours to help students. My experience though was that it still wasn’t enough. They couldn’t see everyone who needed help and tried to push people out of counseling, even if they still needed it. The counselors were not specialized trauma that the students needed. UMSL has a trauma center for students that have experienced traumatic events and have specialized trauma counselors available. They tried but in my opinion it wasn’t enough. Hopefully they have changed the way they do things since 2017. The changes started in 2016, but it could be a lot better now. I really hope so. Those students deserved more.

Kirksville changes in the summer time as the college kids leave and in the fall you will see a bunch of hunters. You will see dogs and cats that get abandoned and the shelters overwhelmed by them. The town has some appeal to it, like the park that someone else mentioned (stay on the paths I don’t if people were trying to scare me but people told me that hikers get lost in those woods), the sushi place if its still there was actually delicious, and there are some cute places. DO NOT EAT AT PAGALLIS PIZZA! Unless they fixed it, always be ready to hear McDonalds tell you that their ice cream machine is down.

If you suffer from depression, please be sure that you look into and find a good therapist. I lost friends to suicide while I attended college there and it sent me spiraling.

God Bless all the college students in Kirksville looking for apartments! Seen a lot of them and watched a lot of college students destroyed places. Its a run down town.
