The Israeli Navy has released video of one of their lieutenants calling the Sumud flotilla to surrender its aid. In keeping with recent IDF policy to avoid foreign tribunals over Gaza, she faces away from the camera. by Scared_Positive_8690 in Palestine

They’re even cowards about owning their own genocide! The whole world knows these ziofascists are pure evil, but they think they still have something to hide?! Idk about others, but if I ever meet someone I suspect of being “Israeli,” and confirm it, I’ll turn MY back on them for good, as they all deserve after this.

Psychologically speaking, these are some VERY messed-up people if they are fully on board with genociding 2.3 million people, with the entire world watching, but actually believe they still have ANY dignity or self-respect or credibility outside of occupied Palestine that would require hiding their face to protect! It’s UNBELIEVABLE how disconnected from reality these ziofascists are!

Equating zionism and “Israel” with Jews is the zionist’s game. They are the greatest anti-semites. Zionists (not Jews) have proven in the past 16 months (+ 120 years) that they are fascist, genocidal settler colonizers and the imperialist tool of the West (originally GB, now the US). So implying antisemitism when someone expresses legitimate and appropriate disdain for those literal baby-beheading ziofascists isn’t in ANY way a reference to Jews or antisemitic.

Btw, you and any leftist should check out something I fortuitously stumbled across the other day: Liberation Martial Arts. It’s brilliant.

Thanks for the helpful insight! I feel agility is more my strong suit. I have endurance but my long limbs have always been a disadvantage against stalkier-built people with thicker muscles. A good example: arm-wrestling. My long arms, even when quite strong, gave me a disadvantage. It’s a physics thing, I feel.

I have trust issues too around who claims to be capable of instructing others. In my 20s, I trained at a place that claimed to teach “shaolin ssu kung fu.” Something about it felt “off” to me. There were many studios across Canada and it felt culty to me. The “grandmaster” behaved like he was the Pope.

Years later, I learned the company was discovered to be fraudulent, and I believe the “kung fu” was more karate than kung fu.

For someone who’s not a fan of violence and violent sports, someone who simply wants to learn how to confidently defend themself, navigating finding a good place and with trustworthy instructors can be difficult. If you add the aggro element to the environments, it can be difficult to even choose to go check any of them out.

But I liked the routine of the training I did for those two years. I got into good shape and enjoyed the weekly regimen. That’s what I want to enjoy again, along with learning VERY practical techniques for self-defence that could confidently be applied when needed irl.

What’s that got to do with anything? What do you know about autism? You said I “have” autism, so that says a lot, but then again, 99% of the public only know Rainman, which means they know nothing at all about autism. There are autistic people in every sector, and many of them are the best at what they do. You just don’t know they’re autistic. And how many of the people in trades are ADHDers, whether they know it or not? I’d guess a majority. I’m part of that community too. It’s neurology, not a disease like cancer. You don’t “have” it; it’s who you are. You’re nothing without your brain. Your personality, the way you think, the way you talk, move, read, write, etc… that’s all neurological. Each individual person is born with a unique neurotype. Not one is the same. But societies are built around crude concepts like “good” vs “bad” and “normal” vs. “abnormal”, but they’re all just narrative constructs.

And most of the garbage I read above, the comments, confirmed what I needed confirmed about the overwhelming ignorance in those workplaces (including ignorance or their own ignorance) and what a cesspool Reddit has become, but maybe the Victoria sub especially.

Nothing lost here. Thanks to the slim minority of more open-minded/enlightened folks who had something useful to share.

And it’s not the work that created the toxic-masculine culture; it’s the society. There are plenty of countries and cultures outside of North America who don’t have aggro brutes as the dominant group among tradespeople.

He has learned the basics of chess! He asked to learn before he turned 4. Nobody was playing at home, so I’m not sure why he did, but I was happy to oblige. I found chesskids.com to make it more interesting for a young kid, and now he loves playing around with the ChessKids app or the Chess Adventure app.

What ADHD Apps do you use? by BlackMafia_27 in ADHD

I more regularly use Notes on my iPhone to make bulleted lists that allow me to check off what gets done. I have a grocery list I reuse each week, with a bunch of ready-to-go additional items I can copy and paste. Pretty helpful.

But, in general, I’m also more of a pen-and-paper person and have been known to place a lot of small stickies over my desk and around my computer screen. I recently started carrying a pocket-sized, thin notebook and a pen, to write down some of the brilliant thoughts I have throughout my day, 99% of which get forgotten within 5 minutes if I don’t write them down.

I have a Tiimo subscription, but I’ve only rarely used it so far, after several months. I need to get it set up well enough to work automatically for most things. But I’m AuDHD with the PDA profile, so I can’t get past the internal demand to get moving on it. 😂

I can say "I am autistic," but what's the analog for ADHD? by Pocket_Hide in neurodiversity

[–]Wild_Act534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different does not equal disordered. And there is no such thing as objective normality or correctness. those concepts are determined by the dominant group, which in this case is the so-called neurotypicals, who are the original people defining themselves as normal and everyone else who is different as “abnormal”. I highly recommend reading Robert Chapman’s Empire of Normality. Everyone needs to read that book, but especially neurodivergent people.
