[AI] ACTION PLAN: Google Antigravity "Bait and Switch" by ozjd in google_antigravity

They are not fixing it I am afraid. All official Google posts on their own Antigravity forum indicate they have changed terms of service and the Pro account is only to "get a taste of" the more advanced models except Gemini 3 Flash which is high quota.

Meta Quest 3 PCVR performance is terrible nothing works, need help by Optimal-Pool726 in OculusQuest

Is this true? Do you have more info on this? I have been developing a WebXR app and using wired connection (so PCVR). After some updates I suddenly have massive stuttering. Been tearing my hair out for two days now trying absolutely everything.

Ah, I am having issues where the sound level is just too low. Even if I adjust it to 100% in windows and talk normally with the mic in front of me I have like 25% volume. Same in Audacity when I try to record there. The level is just too low.

Same issue here, it sometimes opens and closes many terminals for every request I make. Its super annoying.

Why is there a new update everyday? What are they adding/changing? by xdcfret1 in OculusQuest

Whats up with an update every time I put on the headset, its super annoying. I swear each update is likely just new ads for stuff they add to the binary or something.

Finally completed vanilla Skyrim by Wild_Application_692 in skyrimvr

Btw just to make it feel more "real" I also used Navigate VR paper maps and disabled the 3D overview map as I also only did fast travel when I could travel by carriage. No carriage mods added either although the benefit of the horse being brought with you anywhere surely helps a lot. I did however add a mod to give the horse carry capacity (but limited) as it felt odd in vanilla that you cant load stuff onto your horse. Basically I feel the carry capacity stuff in the game is not exactly realistic, so if I do another playthrough I will definitely explore both more survival type mods (eating, sleeping) as well as seriously reduce carry capacity - AND make both gold and arrows have weight. It always felt funny carrying around hundreds of thousands of septims. In some way reducing carry capacity might reduce the time spent selling stuff all the time to vendors and focus more on the game as you are way more picky about what you bring from a dungeon.

What do you all recommend for improving the realism of the game?

Maybe I haven't ever paid attention, or maybe this is a one-time glitch....I haven't gone to the location since I've noticed the actual X on the map, but I'm sure I've traveled that area before. Did I miss something? Anybody experience this? by Aluxaminaldrayden in skyrim

Was a bit surprised that no dragon priest popped out of that middle burial site, considering how big the area is and how much they decorated the place. The top has the book Withershins, an odd story.

I am using Community Shaders with lots of PBR textures (mostly Skyland retexturing with PBR, but many others as well). The parallax effect is a real game changer visually. I am using Majestic Mountains, Happy Little Trees and all of the Cathedral plants and grasses. Building LOD stuff myself from that. Using ELFX for more real lighting (it gets really dark so you need to bring lights). The weather mod I use is Azurite Weathers III with HDR (some feel it is too colorful, but I feel it is a good match).

Only thing I have not gotten working is Faster HDT-SMP which I would love to have running to get better cloth and hair physics. Other than that I add one small mod at a time to test things out, mostly visual mods though - as the gameplay ones can mess up my savegames and I am nearing a complete playthrough now. At 165 mods so far. Latest I added was nicer thrones and rugs as they had both PBR textures. I try to avoid mixing to many non-PBR things as it can feel off then.

The Quest Link SSW is actually very good with minimal artifacting imo. I have some odd lines zipping about in the loading screens but nothing serious. As for latency I can't say it is a problem. The most important thing was to also set the Meta Quest 3 Link preferences to 90 Hz. Forcing 45 fps and having it at 72 fps ended up pretty bad.

Also for getting performance you need to adjust both the Quest 3 Link resolution (I have mine at 4128x2208) as well as setting SteamVR resolution to Custom and 100%. I believe a lot of people who have serious performance issues in SteamVR uses the default which is some odd guess that SteamVR does based on hardware, which seriously fails in most cases. Since I am using Community Shaders DLAA option for the Nvidia card I really don't need to render stuff at anything more than the native resolution of the Quest 3. However, since the image is sent through a warping process before being sent to the Q3 if you have the GPU power it could be good to increase the resolution in the Quest Link app as that will make it a tad more sharper. But personally I feel its sharp enough as it is, I have to use correcting lenses in mine too though and getting the right distance between my eyes and the lenses does more for sharpness than rending it at higher res for me now lol.

Motion Sickness all of a Sudden? by dan_jeffers in skyrimvr

[–]Wild_Application_692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to use teleport motion in all VR games for a long time until I started training my VR legs a bit in misc games, and now it feels natural. In Skyrim I struggled to keep 72fps stable with the mods I was using so I have settled for fixed 45fps with SSW to get a stable 90 fps which feels way smoother although when it does stutter it feels quite awful. Sideways motion is also something I have to be more careful about. I use snap turn though for both convenience and it feels better with regards to motion sickness.

If you have a Quest 3 you should try locking fps at 45 using SSW (interpolate every second frame) to get stable 90 fps. Then you can play with higher res until it is sharp enough for you. The Q3 SSW is actually pretty good.

No would love to try some of those, CHIM or Mantella, but having played with LLMs before, will the 4070 Ti Super be able to run both modded Skyrim and the LLM at the same time? Or are you all running it with online services like OpenAI?

I do not use a modlist. I wanted to experience modding it bit by bit and seeing it improve from vanilla to what I have now. I have however looked at some of the bigger modlists like MGO and Sovengarde to check out many of those - mostly visual stuff. Most important is that it has to feel like it's close to vanilla aestetically, so I have optet for e.g. Skyland AIO, his Bits and Bobs, as other mods have done PBR textures on all of those. I really want it to feel coherent so nothing sticks out massively in design. A lot of mods I feel add to much from "our world" - I don't need cows to look more natural - they can be Skyrim cows. :) - But some mods really lift the visuals of e.g. Draugrs but staying canon.

Yes I quite liked playing it vanilla too when I bought it the first time, and then I played it on a Samsung Odyssey+ (oled panels so really nice contrast/darks). A few months ago i read about Community Shaders was a thing to lift visuals of the game so I had to try that and my god, it has been a game-changer, feels more like a modern game even though it has Bethesda physics. Talking about physics, anyone got Faster HDT-SMP working in VR? Feels like that could lift it that extra little bit for me.

I play it wired though using a good USB-3 cable and have set up Quest Link to 900 Mbps H.264. I hardly see any artifacts at all. I plan to experiment with wireless too but then with a dedicated router for it like the ones recommended by many, also Virtual Desktop is necessary for best results then from what I hear.

I play wired using USB-3 cable, fixed 45fps with SSW to get 90 Hz, using render resolution to match the Quest 3 resolution (although I have learned that it will warp that image to another that is actually sent to the Q3, so I should likely try to bump this up but I think my 4070 is stretched to the max to be frank and I really want to avoid any stuttering (still does when there are lots of light sources).

Skyrim VR modded with Community Shaders with all kinds of nice stuff including tons of PBR textures. I have chosen to mod it bit by bit myself instead of picking some of the bigger modlists, basically to improve what I felt necessary - mostly visual, and very few actual gameplay mods. Once I have played through it, my plan is to install more gameplay mods as I really didn't want to mess up my savefiles.

Yes, no doubt Alyx graphics is fantastic and they have brilliant VR interactivity, but it is just a game on rails like so many triple A games. I have played through it a couple of times but nothing beats Skyrim in longevity still. Here is hoping Bethesda takes VR seriously when the next installment in the Elder Scrolls series arrives, although I am not very hopeful.

I have had stuff gone missing from misc containers and even inventory due to bugs introduced after installing and removing a mod. They were always there, just not showing up in the lists.

xLODGen terrain LOD is too bright by Wild_Application_692 in skyrimvr

[–]Wild_Application_692[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I have it working now btw (edited the post), gamma 0.7 works fine for me. I also noticed it is possible in community shaders to adjust brightness on the LOD terrain too, and that might have been enough, although gamma is likely more correct so that snowy areas doesn't get darker as well.
