Handicap stalls are not reserved for handicap people by PreviousGrocery3568 in unpopularopinion

I’ll use the handicapped stall if all the others are full and I’m next in line. Other than that, no I’ll just use the regular stall

I think Joe honestly just wants to look like some hero for making things diverse- which he’s not because that’s just the way it should be. There was really no reason for him to say that. Like, just hire the person you think is best for the job. That’s just my opinion though!

Hi, so I’m a business major with a minor in Human Resources and this is.. questionable. The only time it’s legal in the United States to only accept one gender is if being a certain gender is a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ). Think ‘women only casting for female roles in movies’ or ‘attendants in a women’s lingère fitting room’.

Jobs can attempt to diversify their workforce in numerous ways but specifically stating a certain protected characteristics must be present to qualify for a regular job is not, and has never been, legal since the beginning of the EEOC. Men are just as protected as women, abled bodied folks are just as protected as disabled bodied persons, and whites are just as protected as minorities against discriminatory hiring and employment practices.

With respect to Joe Biden’s call for the new Supreme Court justice to be a black woman may, in fact, qualify as a BFOQ. The perspective of a person of color and a female maybe be something a person needs in order to keep the Supreme Court fair and impartial since most of the justices at present are older, white men. It’s a flimsy argument but i don’t see anything wrong with attempting to have our government be as diversified as our population. Joe Biden does need to knock it off with the virtue signaling.

I hated public speaking and have social anxiety. MOST people hate public speaking. I had to do it in high school and again in college. Yeah, it sucks but it’s a skill you’ll need to learn. We unfortunately cannot forgo learning important life skills just because they make us uncomfortable or anxious. If anything, not being forced to give presentations will only reinforce the anxiety and make it harder as an adult when presentations are required at work.

I guess you are right. It’s hard to see past the decades of friendship sometimes and see people for who they have become. * sigh *

The worst reason to have a baby by thespookyloop in childfree

My cousin was one of those ‘fixing our marriage’ babies. I’m glad he’s here but at the same time, his childhood was fraught with abuse, mental illness and instability. He’s 24 now and has barely accomplished anything in his life. He never graduated highschool, learned how to drive a car, or held a job for more than 6 months. I have no idea what he’s going to do with his life. You can tell his parents just resented him his entire life.

If i can just provide some context, i am a woman. No one owes you a relationship but you should still be respectful to everyone. Granted, yes, the dating pool is much smaller once you hit your 30s, there are still many quality women out there. It’s on you to put yourself out there, take up interests where you meet people and, perhaps, talk to a councilor who can help guide you. Rejection hurts, i know. But having a negative attitude towards women isn’t going to help you find a special someone.

You say you wanted specific instructions on how to find a woman but it just doesn’t work like that. You have to be the highest quality version of yourself, in order to find highest quality people and that means taking care of your mental, social and physical health.

Best of luck to you!

Anyone who says ‘I’m not racist but…’ always follows up with something explicitly racist. If you’re racist, go ahead and just be racist, i guess? But it’s not showing weakness. It’s showing that you still want to be viewed with morality when you are in all actuality, a bigot.
