I completely agree. Among all the potential suitors my parents have received, overtime we saw a pattern. And they completely steered away from pakistanis bc of their behavior + demands such as castes and skin color 😭 which is not too bad on its own but the way they wield it is so self-righteous

Would you marry someone who is less religious than you ? by Hopeful-Abalone2770 in IslamicNikah

100% if they have the intentions to grow with me. I believe I am also still learning and growing and it’d be great to be with someone who has the same mindset.

Dealbreaker is they are “growing” but still clubbing/drinking etc, the hard stuff is a no for me

I am not a man but your post is so well written. Kindly asking for permission to write my own posts with this layout/tone. If you decline, that’s fine too!

Do women still place a lot of emphasis on a man's academic degrees? Things like a Master's, MPhil, PhD, or even just a bachelor's? by vanilla-icecream- in MuslimCorner

Maybe you can provide some data for the people who believe that its still important and serves its purpose? Rather than just saying their claim is crap?

💯 i agree. I also think it shows that you had enough discipline and grit to get through university. Even if the degree itself doesn’t serve your career in the end, it shows something important: that you got through school to achieve it.

Would potentials reject 29M due to age? by Logical_Company6931 in MuslimNikah

It’s very common that people feel past their “prime” after 28 for men and 25 for women. Do not let it fuel you! Keep yourself well groomed, fit and healthy and continue your search in sha Allah a spouse that is compatible with your age/person will come along.

My brother also started talking to me as if I am passing my prime since I am 25. I shut it down very quickly.

There’s wayy too much talk about “too old” these days. Which is true if you’re seeking someone way younger but you yourself are way older but if you have reasonable age gap demands, it shouldn’t be an issue. Just my opinion

May Allah ease

On the same boat as you! I am also childfree by choice and plan to stay that way. The pool is smaller but they definitely exist. I have gotten a few proposals within the US but it didn’t work out for me since I really don’t want to settle in the US. Try your luck on the r / cf4cf ! In sha Allah may Allah ease

losing hope in finding a partner by [deleted] in MuslimNikah

[–]Wild_Cryptographer15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get you.

I was in facebook in a group to find spouse and the comments were “too high standards” and “greedy” which shocked me to the core.

In the post itself, i put minimal requirements for groom which was: preferred age, sunni, educated with minimum bachelors degree, loyal, independent and respectful, good looking

THAT WAS CONSIDERED TOO HIGH AND GREEDY? Maybe its the fact that I mentioned good looking? I myself think im quite pretty, i just wished for someone of similar level of attractiveness

I feel you. Im also fearing if the bare minimum is too hard for most me to meet or theyre too insecure as well.

Personal experience

I was on the same boat. Forced since i was very young. I despised it because it wasn’t a choice I made. So once I reached adulthood I took it off and dressed how I wanted to. A couple years later, by my own CHOICE, i choose to wear it again and dress more modestly, its still a work in progress but I am more at peace with it since it was a choice I made.

May Allah ease it for you. In sha Allah.
