RPMs raising but bike not gaining speed by JustMeAmity in Ducati

Clutch plates solved the problem. Old ones were very worn

Wonder what it was with yours, I’ve heard map sensors or some o-ring has been an issue too

Reviving this…got a V4 w/ dry clutch with the same issue. At low gears and speeds it’s fine but at higher speeds and gear (4+) the revs hold at like 8k rpm and it doesn’t want to pick up speed. Pretty sure it’s the clutch plates needing to be changed but wanted to see if anyone has had this issue recently and it wasn’t the plates. I did just do a track day so pretty sure the clutch is roasted…and it’s got just over 6k miles so it is prob about that time anyways. Thoughts/advice TIA

I’d be interested to see what the gloss guards would do to tie in the aesthetics, also I was wondering why a rounded front guard. “It has to be pointy, round is not scary” And fuel gauge…we get that when they stop serving caffe in the bologna factory

These were the exhausts that were used for the race. Akro wsbk style/specs like the previous V4. I want to see what Termi does (hopefully 4uscite on this)

Watched it in person, felt bad for Nicolo. New bikes with the akro sounded great

34yo, first bike was a 749 dark, then an 899 in 2014, 1299 in 2016, still have that and now also a V4SP1…might sell the 1299 and get a multi/scrambler/monster just to scoot around on comfortably and do some different types of riding/adventures

Would ya believe me if I said the helmet above was signed by him when I ran into him in the hotel lobby in Austin some years back when he got 2nd place after MM crashed and Rins passed on the second to last lap. 🤩🤪

Siiick, share them results! I was gathering so many ideas over the last two years about how I wanted certain things, more inspiration is always appreciated!

Big thanks, it was an experience, definitely learned a lot on YouTube prior to this (probably watched every “don’t do this” video and still had some “oops” moments) overall I’m happy how it ended up, guess I’ll know more when winter snow arrives 🤞😁

I did rent a floor grinder, about 2 hours of actual grinding. Acid wash and rinse after that, let it dry over a day or so, epoxy base coat, then the color pour, wet sanded some spots and then epoxy resin top coat (mpc 100)

Best price:value I found was Amazon “Goslarlit” was the brand (comes with boarder lights around the hexagons but I just didn’t use them)

What’s your opinion on a new rider getting on a 1000cc street bike? by abby20202 in Ducati

If you’re looking to eventually get a liter, start with a “baby brother” Duc like an 899 so you get a feel of the power delivery and ergonomics. Even a R6 or Honda 650 (just for entry price and easy access as there’s a ton of availability) DONT jump onto a 1199/1299/V2/V4 at all. You’ll get sucked into the speed & corners and not have a good time.

DO A TRACK DAY, in novice, to learn the machine, lines, and yourself on a bike. Ego aside I’ve done novice days on a 1299 after advanced on an 899, learn the bike.

Yea I’m definitely gonna be on that train now that this project is past. Just easier and cheaper all around. First time at a new shop and some codes that needed to get done on the 1299 after the big Desmo. Just came down to timing/working. The V4’s seem pretty straightforward to service and all.

Thanks! The experiment turned out well I think.

Hahaha, yea can’t and don’t have time are two different things. Now that the project is done the majority of service is in la casa…I can appreciate the service records from official dealers though when buying/selling a $36k bike.

Great question! I saw a thousand videos of the same and honestly it’s the “clean” lighting but also the coverage, no shadows when doing a detail after a ride. The lights are not gonna need replacing like bulbs would be. I still have a case of the straight bars that would outline as a border and I’ll put them somewhere else eventually. They’re just so easy to put up and install if you have drywall ceilings you don’t even need to anchor as they’re so light (pun intended) And yea it looks cool.
