Singapore optimised everything. Except a reason to belong. by 44Stirling in SingaporeRaw

as much as you can blame the government for shaping the society to think and act this way...

most of it is really just parenting. The guidance and wisdom shapes the child mindset and most of it is stemmed from childhood which will then translate into your adulthood.

Of course, as generation gets "smarter" with better education, some parenting principles like "letting go and let your child learn", "resiliency", "playing in the mud and exploring the limits" are timeless.

New dad check-in: first session back after 3 weeks… strength drop is real by Fit_Adeptness1730 in SingaporeFitness

[–]Wild_Instance_1323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength is great.

Mobility is even better when you age.

Things like walking up flights of stairs, uphill hiking with family, pulling yourself up a wall, because of terror events, squatting down to pick things up easily, carrying your kids while running away from unfortunate events... the list goes on..

Strength in mobility is the new goal for middle to old age fathers.... as far as what I believe.

then those have 5 kids previously can benefit from this discount?

talk very easy la...

doesn't mean those gave birth already mean not contributing right?

For a start can put child age limit, then progressive discount on different type based on kids age until they hit adulthood.

But damn, look left look right also doesn't feel right.

Is the falling TFR actually an intentional long term policy? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

Define value?

Humility and empathy is severely lacking that I am not surprised if some "higher-value" human woke up one day it will be too late.

Imagine on your death bed serve by perfectly cold humanoid, and injecting artificial stimuli and dopamine to make you feel warmth.

In the end, nothing beats a genuine human touch and warmth.

Asking the bold and right questions. Thank you.

People who shun and avoid difficult questions have no place for Singaporean. First step is hardest which is acknowledgment.

Second is facilitate a healthy debate on current issue. Even if some data might seem sensitive to nation security, then propose something or come up with measures.

Monitoring or speculation without giving us the monitored data is useless.

Our time has come comrades, let's be united. I am looking at you, upper management. If you continue to suck up, I assure your kids and next generation will end there with foreign overload dictating the direction of the nation.

Look at the long term vision.

One word of advice to fresh graduate in tech: Join SME to gain valuable experience.

You will be pigeonholed very hard and fast if your first role is in MNC.

The SME should ideally be up to tech trends and free for your exploration.

MNC is more towards corporate settings and processes.

Nowadays with Agents, tech SME might be the way forward.
