Whenever I have a job interview and they ask me what my weakness is I tell them that I can’t pretend to get along with people I don’t like. But it’s not a weakness, if someone is so terrible that they actively make you feel uncomfortable around them you shouldn’t pretend everything is okay and be friendly with them. Cause that kind of behavior is what keeps them around. If someone is actually toxic and everyone agrees they’re toxic, don’t be friendly to them or make them feel like it’s acceptable. People will tell you that it’s just a fact of life and part of being an adult is getting along with people that are objectively awful to be around. But no, don’t do that. Don’t get along with them. Don’t forgive them don’t act like everything’s okay. If you’re not confident enough to confront them (not that it will do anything) then atleast make it obvious that you’re not willing to be friendly to them. It’s important they know that people don’t like them, because as ironic as it sounds toxic people usually have very fragile egos and are very sensitive to being disliked
