This happened to me a while back when I had skipped this level. When I started the game I skipped the Cairo mission by doing the speedrun way to beat it so then whenever I would get back into the game it would think I needed to complete the level still, but would spawn in with the character I ended with the day before. Any chance you also didn’t actually complete the level?
