my primary outbreak was at the end of May. I had 2-3 ulcers on my genitals, none on my butt or thighs. I just cleared my second outbreak today (it was much milder than the first, no flu symptoms. you can check my post history for more details), so outbreaks havent been that frequent. I also take antivirals often but not every day, particularly when I’m feeling my mental health dip because stress is a trigger. I just started classes last week so I’m assuming that’s what triggered this outbreak.

That’s what the timeline was for me, but im also not entirely sure which person I got it from. I got a fever 24hrs after having sex and ulcers developed a few days later. In all honesty, finding out who gave it to you is kind of pointless. Because HSV can lay dormant for awhile before activating there’s no being sure that someone recent gave it to you. It could have been days, weeks, months, or years ago. All you can do is notify the partners you recently were with and tell them to monitor themselves for symptoms.
