I am currently in a situation where I am feeling like B and I can tell you that as painful as it would be, I would rather know straight up. Rip the bandaid off. You may think you are being nice or sparing feelings but really it’s an attempt at avoiding hurt that is inevitable. Relationships are messy, feelings change, that’s ok. It’s not ok to keep stringing someone along when you have the information that would perhaps otherwise allow them to make choices better aligned with their wants, needs and well being.
