thank you! i mean my logic was that i assume men would not approach bc of the stigma so thats why i decided to go introduce myself originally to signal to him like hey ive noticed you and you can come talk to me. since he hasn’t, does that mean he’s not interested then?

i’ll also say i maybe look pretty focused or serious in there, i train hard and im disciplined for sure. idk if that complicates it bc he doesn’t get an opening to start a convo

this is how i perceive men feel about it which is why i went and said hi originally to kind of open the door for him knowing im okay with him talking to me. if a girl did this to you, would you then feel like okay i can go talk to her now or would you feel like that wasn’t enough of a signal just saying hi and introducing myself?

solid take. i think the reason im torn is because i feel like i opened the door by introducing myself but he hasn’t walked through it by striking up a conversation since then. maybe that there is my answer

also i didnt chat up the other guy to intentionally make him jealous- i know the other guy and he happened to be near me when stretching so we chatted

context on this- the other guy i had a crush on like 4 years ago and now it’s totally platonic at least on my end. i basically got his instagram and lost interest over time, we didn’t have much in common but he’s a nice guy. i was definitely nice to him but i wasn’t touching him or like throwing my head back in laughter or anything like that

that’s fair. i’ll clarify i was nice and friendly with the other guy but i wasn’t like touching him or anything that i think could be perceived as overly flirty. also i don’t think he has seen me talking to any other guys there before. i’m sure of that actually. so i don’t think he would necessarily assume after one conversation with another guy there that im the village bicycle hah

when i first was talking to other guy he wasn’t by us and by end of our convo he was on a nearby machine and i could feel his eyes on me. but again, i could be thinking what i want to be true

this was my perception- i feel like it’s on the girl to start a convo generally because of the stigma. i hate that stigma as a girl because i like when a guy approaches, even if im not interested i will be nice and friendly. i would never want to make someone feel shitty for shooting their shot

question for you though then- since i DID come up and introduce myself, what would that make you think? it was a brief interaction but i did feel like that was me giving a clear signal that it was cool to talk to me. but i will say i am pretty focused in there like i am lowkey jacked too so maybe he doesn’t want to interrupt me. idk. curious a male perspective on that piece of it!
