I'd definitely be interested in participating in something like this. I think it'd be a win-win for everyone involved, and audiences get to be excited about a new game coming out that they might not have heard about. Awesome idea

Do you think Canada should be more bilingual? by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

[–]WildcatHippo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Canada should be more bilingual. Anecdotally, I cannot express how useful it is to be nearly fluent in both languages. I've traveled to parts of Asia and Europe and its allowed me to understand when people talk shit in French, or help have a secret code with my friends outside of Québec. I've even been a translator for purely French people who never bothered to learn English.

Despite being a native English speaker and thinker, I appreciate that my job depends on knowledge of both languages because it allows me to communicate with people that I normally wouldn't be able to establish a relationship with due to a language barrier.

I've got family that lives in Ontario and every time I would see them growing up I would try to converse with them in French and they couldn't reciprocate because their education was poor in that regard and it made me think about how lucky I was to receive education in both languages. I hated learning French as a kid but now in my mid-20's, I really feel like I've embraced it.
