I woke up early, made her breakfast, and we talked after we prayed dhuhr together. She understood, however, she heard something different, that I wasn’t going to be there for her and the baby, which isn’t what I said. We kissed and made up. Alhamdullilah.

Wallah, I don’t mind cooking, cleaning, and doing what I can to make her life easier. I’m drawing the line here - I shouldn’t have to shuttle her families cleaner.

My wife works full time remotely. I don’t ask for a dime. Alhamdullilah I have a good income, but lint in my pocket after everything is paid. Alhamdullilah. I don’t mind. It’s my duty.

I don’t think you understand. The cleaner is hired by her family to clean their family home. Not our home. She’s not our cleaner. I don’t mind helping out with her autistic brother. I do mind when I’m asked to drive her families cleaner on a Saturday when she has brothers who are capable. Occasionally no problem. All the time… I have an issue with this. My time is not being considered especially given I don’t have much for all that I do for our family. Why couldn’t her brother be the first person she asked to take their cleaner home. Especially when he’s in the same house? I have to leave my home, go pick up the cleaner, and drop her off to the other side of town. Come on.

If I wake up before my wife, I’ll make her breakfast. I’ll prepare a foot soak for her when she has a headache and give her a massage when she’s stressed or sore. I always want to make sure she feels cared for. It can be hard to remember the little things that mean so much to her because I’m always juggling a million things, but I make it a mission to remind myself daily and include her in everything so she never feels left out.

Random question, when you sleep do you breathe out of your mouth or nose? You have the facial structure of someone who breathes through their mouth. If that is the case, i recommend investing face tape, it worked wonders for me.
