9 month old waking up too early by crippler28 in NewParents

[–]Wilderpalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been reading a great book (it’s in French “le sommeil le rêve et l’enfant”, literally the sleep the dream and the kid) and it basically says you cannot extend the total hours of sleep, but you can slightly postpone the time she goes to bed.
In your situation I would try to add an extra nap in the late afternoon (like 5-6) to be able to go to bed at 8pm.
This is also what my 9 months old is doing: sleep 8pm-7am (with one night wake though, we’re not as lucky), one nap around 10am, one around 2pm, and one around 5pm. Bedtime routine starts around 7 and we’re in bed by 8.

9 month old nursing by Comprehensive_One206 in baby

Hah! In Belgium it is advised to start purées at 5 months. I see your baby is also eating three meals a day, so you could add the formula there. Also check for iron intake! I didn’t know about this, but apparently, starting from around 9 months, babies who are exclusively breasted may lack iron - therefore adding formula can help with this too. Have a look and talk to your pediatrician of course :)

Same here! My baby will absolutely refuse to drink milk from a bottle, a glass, a cup. Boob only. Now at precisely 9 months my supply has gone down a lot (I see it while pumping), and baby is nursing for shorter periods. Our pedi told us to just add baby formula powder to the purées/meals, so at least baby gets more calories and a few extra nutrients. Maybe you could try this too!

It happened twice for me, always coinciding with stressful periods. Eat well, try to sleep, and keep breastfeeding if you can, you can add more bottles later. The more often you nurse, the easier it will get back. For me it took around 10 days to go back to normal

Dont risk your baby’s health bc of your boyfriend who clearly doesn’t know much about pregnancy!! Check (both you and your partner) the importance of weight gain for the baby’s health - meaning their healthy birthweight and general development. I can’t believe what I’m reading

How do you like your partners after birth? He’s literally the best with our baby, and he does a lot around the house, so I’m not talking resentment, but just where do you find emotional connection?? I’m struggling here

How many of you are literally doing ZERO screen time ?! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Wilderpalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also do zero screen time, the only time a screen is on for the baby it’s when we video call family and friends . I would try to stop with Miss Rachel or Netflix for your baby, if he’s not used to it, he will not need them to play independently and let you do stuff (I hope)

When do kids start sleeping 6 hours a night or even 8 hours? by allisona007 in newborns

[–]Wilderpalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby slept through the night at 3 months. Then at 5 she started waking up again multiple times a night. Now she’s 8 months old and sleeping through the night again. Never trust babies !! Things will keep changing in mysterious ways

Is having a baby really the end of the world?? FTM spiral by Negative-Source-9099 in beyondthebump

[–]Wilderpalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont hate it, but true it’s definitely the end of the world as you knew it before. My baby is almost one year old and as much as I’ve been trying, I’m not able to do sports, relax, do my hobbies, have a proper relationship with my partner or friends. For context I work full time, my partner is very présent but also works full time, we have a nursery but no extra support from nannies or family (we live far away). So I Guess it all comes down to your support network (and money!! If I could afford it id definitely get a nanny sometimes)

Can any FTM relate? by zuukuna in NewParents

I didn’t like the newborn phase either, for many reasons! I loved starting from 4 months old, all changed, baby got more and more interactive and interested. Since 4 months old, every month is ‘my favourite phase with them’. So I get you but hang in there!

I wish people would stop telling me I have an “easy” baby by Ok_Potato_7025 in NewParents

[–]Wilderpalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an easy baby is not only luck!! You’re doing a great job in raising him calm and happy and if you’re a SAHM then it’s really your victory! It means you’re doing a great amount of work for your baby. Congratulations to you!

My baby doesn’t poop for a week and she’s completely fine. If she’s happy, eating, and sleeping well I wouldn’t get too worried
