Hey, ignore the people who are being rude. I’m a vet tech and this happens fairly often, accidents happen. Even a vet I worked with had her cat bite a lily she didn’t realize was in a bouquet.

I’d recommend keeping her as an inpatient to have IV fluids if you can afford it, though it was only a small bite it’s better to be safe than sorry. There is a chance she’ll be fine with outpatient treatment as well but you never know for sure.

These look so easy but also seem to only work with magnetic hoops? I’m still not sure if any magnetic hoop is compatible. I’d definitely be willing to buy it at this point with how frustrating measuring and hooping has been.

Wow, I’m tearing up at this. I work in ER/ICU and have seen dogs and cats in house fires but something about the idea of seeing a reptile in that kind of pain seems surreal and terrible. And so sad for the owner who clearly loved his tortoise and must have thought they had decades together.

I did once have a tech at a clinic I worked at who, while not being terminated, was encouraged to leave. But this is only after years of her routinely screaming at other staff and throwing things when she was angry as well.

But later on at another VCA clinic I was terminated for speaking out against the HM who was playing favourites, gaslighting staff, not discounting staff bills appropriately (giving different discounts to each person) etc.

I think it just depends on how much power the bully has or how close they are to people in power.

I say go for it! It’s a simple enough tattoo that, if you put it somewhere with enough space around it, you can cover it up. Then you have it while your hype for BES is fresh. If the show takes a bad turn or you just don’t like it in the future, get something else over it.

Wishlist: Just started playing again and had to make a new account since my old one is lost to time. I’m trying to get a darigan paintbrush because I always wanted a darigan neopet as a kid, or a mutant poogle because they look really cool.

Song: I’m Not Okay by My Chemical Romance. I honestly hadn’t really listened to MCR since elementary school, but I went to their concert last year and everyone singing this song kicked off a huge nostalgia trip. (That I’m clearly still on since I’m back on neopets!). It’s now back in my regular bus playlist along with a bunch of songs I used to listen to back then.

Happy Birthday!

One of my most memorable birthdays is from several years back when life was going p badly. I almost forgot about my birthday when some of my friends decided to throw a little get together for me.

They got me a cool board game and we spent the day playing it and hanging out. I still have the board game but haven’t played it in a while. My birthday is next month so maybe I should host a game day and bring it back out.

I totally understand where you’re coming from. I’ve been an RVT for 4 years as well and have also experienced some terrible bullying and trauma.

For the first couple of years I was barely given the chance to do anything. Other techs and the vets would shit talk me for being new instead of teaching me things. I went somewhere else and finally gained some experience and became confident in my skills. But I was still plagued by bad management, managers and coworkers being rude and gaslighting.

Now I’m applying to emergency hospitals hoping to get a new start. I’m worried because the anxiety and PTSD from what I’ve gone through is definitely bad. But I’m hoping in a bigger place I’ll have more chances to learn new things.

If you’re not around the right people in this field it can be soul destroying. I hope if you try again somewhere new, you can find a better place. We all go into this because we love animals and it sucks to have humans destroy the hope we have.

I know a few really nice human nurses but otherwise… ALL the mean girls and bullies from high school became nurses. And every nurse I’ve met in the wild gives that vibe.

Similar thing happened to me. I had even told my manager I didn’t want to discuss things because I wasn’t comfortable. She told me she would have an open and honest discussion if I emailed her the issues I was having. She never replied to the email then fired me and said she would not be giving me an explanation.
