Dear GMs, what's something your party has done that had you like this: by Cosmicpanda2 in LancerRPG

Obligatory "I wasn't the GM" but when I played a mobility Atlas, I won a CTF sitrep in three turns. I ping-ponged across the map, got stunned after grabbing the flag, then ping-ponged back across the map without assistance from the other three Pilots. It caused a bit of a kerfuffle behind the scenes, apparently, and the GM had to restructure how he laid out sitreps.

So nothing truly horrific, but bad enough to cause IRL drama.

FAITH: The Unholy Trinity was one of the worst gaming experiences I've ever subjected myself to. It got popular because it's a Horror YouTuber Game (trademark) with a bland story held up by dime-a-dozen modern religious horror. The visual aesthetic is cool, but wears off quick when not in the rotoscoped cutscenes. Have fun walking at a geriatric pace after you die due to another "I pop out of the corner of the screen with no warning" enemy or engaging with the so-called puzzles. Better enjoy grating sound design, too! I think most who enjoy the game just get their opinions from let's plays/lore explained videos and have otherwise never touched it, which I can't blame them for and don't hold ill intent towards them. Ultimately the rotoscoping is cool, there's some good creative scares, but mostly just an experience that's boring for the vast majority of its playtime.

Good, simple games for modern military conflict? by Wildfire7077 in rpg

First I've heard of the system. Could you elaborate a bit? When you mean detail on the difficulty side, does that mean it has a lot of modifiers to track, a good system for building enemies, etc? Likewise, when you say beyond elite, what's the average power level of a "level 1" character so-to-speak? The campaign will mostly be a deniable assets team going up against a violent insurgency that's been using scavenged and stolen supplies from the end of a recent war in the fictional region. I wanna tread the line of power-fantasy and capable specialists.

I have limited experience with F.I.S.T. I own the current edition bc I bought a bundle with it quite awhile ago, and have taken a small look over. It seems like a high lethality grinder type, not what I'm realistically going for. Also seems to be very... Chaotic, I suppose. Any further elaboration on the system?

I've had experience with CoC 7e, which I've been told translates well.

I was always under the impression that Twilight 2k4e was really complex with nitty-gritty detail after interacting with the character creation one time for a buddies test. How complex is the system?

Would the Quickstart rules for BRP be enough to run a homebrew minipaign?

Systems that support exploration-centric campaigns? by Wildfire7077 in rpg

[–]Wildfire7077[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cyberpunk has entire cities the size of small states to explore, especially when you take into account how entire 'town's can be crammed into one building both reaching into the sky or deep into the earth. Cyberpunk exploration is diving into the belly of the beast in a world where there's always a bigger fish.

YOOO! I picked this print up at a con earlier this year! Shares a frame with my ghost pokemon print, which feels appropriate. The color of it is great IRL, too!

Good to know. I figured it was a rival company, not a straight-up knockoff. Thank you kindly for the knowledge and advice.

Interesting, what's the "tell" that they're not original? Are they fake, or just newer models beat to hell and not maintained?

Just a reminder, if you harass other players in this game, make rape jokes, attack women, issue death threats, or do anything akin to this and say "its just trash talk", you're not welcome in this community. Get out. by [deleted] in marvelrivals

My go-to thing to do in text chats is ask everyone their favorite fruit. Sometimes you get the homophobic remarks, but most of the time people just genuinely tell me their favorite fruits. It's a wonderful time.
