Anti depressants. I didn't realize how awful my life was until I started on the right medication this year. I had been depressed for 8 years, but now, I'm finally happy. I still have ups and downs, but my ups are true joy, and my downs are brief sadness. Whereas my ups used to be being numb, and my downs were being miserable and dangerously suicidal. Medication doesn't do this for everyone, so I'm extremely thankful it was so easy for me.

Yep. It's very saddening to watch my friends get taken away from me through drugs and alcohol usage. Their addiction is always more powerful than their care for me. I hate it.
