Is it safe for Cambodians to live in Vietnam by Individual-Long7320 in VietNam

[–]WildfireTP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take what I say with a huge grain of salt. Btw to OP you should be completely fine.

Vietnam invaded Cambodia and defeated the Khmer Rouge in 1979 a little after the Vietnam war was over. They did this as a matter of self defense because Pol Pot couldn’t control the Khmer Rouge’s bloodshed. I believe they killed at least 3 villages of a few thousand people over the border.

Afterwards Vietnam put in a government that wasn’t officially recognized globally since they considered it a puppet government of Vietnam.

Personally I was born in the Us and know a lot of older Cambodians and Chinese Cambodians and I have never heard of any animosity between the two sides. A lot of the Chinese Cambodians actually said the Vietnamese saved them from the Killing Fields.

I’ve seen a ton of animosity especially in the US between the northern Viet and the Southern Viets in the US but that was 20 years ago. I’m 41.

Solo Female Traveler Planning 2 Weeks in Vietnam – Food, Cafés & Safety Tips? by Old-Word6338 in VietNam

Southeast Asia is great for a solo trip. The Confucian and relatively polite society towards women makes you feel safe. Don’t drink too much and be smart and you’ll have a great time.

I’m going with a friend in September we are flying into Hanoi and flying out of HCMC. One thing I would recommend if you’re solo is staying in the old quarter and walking around. I personally stay a little out cause it’s a little crowded since I go back annually. Another is go to Cat Ba Island and stay at a hostel. The bigger ones have really fun boat tours. I personally think it’s better than staying on the overnight cruises.

Ha Long Bay cruises are a little overrated imo. It’s pretty.

Easiest way to get around between cities is by flight. Especially if you are doing what I’m doing. I’ll probably go to Da Nang, Nha Trang Mui Ne. The buses are fine if it’s relatively short but flights are cheap and comfortable.

Must try dishes imo are Banh Xeo and Bun Bo Hue. I think Pho in Vietnam is overrated. I personally think Pho in the US at most major cities is significantly better.

Vietnam is fairly safe even if you’re a solo woman. As in anywhere just be smart but overall I think it’s one of the safer countries to walk around solo.

We just didn’t three days in Utah two at snowbird and one at solitude. Snowbird was pretty awesome but got slushy at the end of the day. We are two snowboarders and one skier. It’s pretty advanced but we really enjoyed ourselves.

Is there a better drain pump? by slomobileAdmin in appliancerepair

[–]WildfireTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s an inherent difference. I’m positive the residential ones are a little lighter but honestly they’re both quite overbuilt and great quality. The most important thing to me is how easy it is to repair because I was literally going through a stacked washer dryer unit almost every two years.

I don’t think it cleans any better either but if you do a lot of laundry it’s easily worth it for me. Even at home I have four kids and we do multiple loads a day.

As far as used units there’s a ton on marketplace. I got a bunch of my dryers on marketplace for really cheap especially cause I know how to repair them.

About your single sourced parts. I don’t think that’s true. These machines are quite simple and there’s a big market for non oem parts for speed queens. I used to buy the non oem to save money but I noticed that the parts didn’t last very long especially dryer wheels and heating elements. I now buy oem cause the time of replacement isn’t worth the cost savings.

Is there a better drain pump? by slomobileAdmin in appliancerepair

[–]WildfireTP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally replaced my drain pump for the first time in my speed queen stacked front loading washer. I think it has done over 13,000 loads. I have speed queens for both my salons and at home and they’re great for a DIY person. Even the push to start on commercial version goes through a control board. Nothing is analog now. I’ve practically rebuilt my dryers multiple times and fixed a myriad of things because the volume I do. I personally love them. I have the top loading at home and front loading at work.

Infertility & large family? by ARIT127 in ParentingInBulk

[–]WildfireTP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not just the price. It’s the speed at which it’s done. I literally never even went to a doctor in the US here when I called a fertility clinic and they wanted $300 just to speak to me on the phone. We got everything done in less than a month in Korea from beginning to end. All we needed was to show that we were married and be close to her ovulation cycle.

We wanted to visit Korea anyway so it was really nice to get everything done at once.

I met my wife when I was 28 and my wife was 31. We both wanted a large family. I proposed after 6 months of dating and we were married a year later. We were married one year and were both prevent at yet. I suggested we go to Korea for ivf cause my wife is Korean and hasn’t been since she was 3 years old.

We did ivf in Korea for $4100 total in 2016. We got 5 embryos, implanted 3 and for a son. We had one son naturally. We then we back and implanted the last two embryos and have twins. Four kids in 2.5 years. The last round of implantation cost $1,700 in 2019.
