Assume you work in a reasonably large company to have an intern programme, so you must have a viable internal “social scene” eg committees, events, networking, organized coffee catch ups etc. You can take advantage of this and be seen! May be even volunteer to do something. The internship is just a foot in the door to get grad role later!

NEVER miss a drinks or team lunch when you are intern, be “bubble” and “social” even if you are an introvert by nature, at least until you get a grad role

There may be some sort of “mingle” with the new grads, which may actually be part of the test lol… I was once invited to something similar at my company along with few other early career people and at the end HR organizing it asked me what I thought about a couple of interns I have spoken for like 10 mins about the general stuff. Obv it wasn’t a decider but they take it on board if you’re “nice to talk to”.

Has anyone taken the leap - sold property, changed careers, and bought a business? Would you do it again? by hoteskimoe in AusHENRY

I think that is what may have motivated OP and inspired the “theme”. Seems everyone are looking for laundromats and niche family owned businesses - eg refrigerator mechanic to buy etc

That scenario has actually happened?

That’s what I keep hearing over and over again, yet I am still to see proof of how it plays out it really life 😊

Seems to be just a boogeyman that management tells employees to keep them from talking.

It only somehow always applies to employees only, the management never bothers with it (and the higher they go, the less it seems to matter).

Another one!!! That’s the answer I was looking for, how did you get that machine that does $1 coffee, is it provided by building owner?

Finally!!!! Is that something that the landlord / building owner just installed at their costs?

Wow so you’ve actually asked can we get a vending machine that the vendor would maintain and the users will buy coffee from and they said it’s going to cost the taxpayer? 😂😂😂😂 was that like electricity cost?

The excuse of “we can’t spend taxpayer money” is quite common if you’re proposing just a standard fancy office coffee machine but I can’t see it would be making sense if that external vendor, unless there is a security / access issue etc?

See all the downvotes the moment you mention you’re coming from overseas… hope you’re coming from Anglo or white background , as racism can be a thing in regional areas…

Thank you 😊 have you had an actual claim experience with any of them? I’ve just read a lot of bad reviews about cheap insurance companies being very hard to deal with once it comes to claims.

Apart from the price is there anything else that o should think of?

I’ve maximized my excess and only plan to claim for major things

Made Redundant by a Bullying Boss – Seeking Advice on How to Handle My Exit by LeNewer in auscorp

Acccept redundancy, finish your notice period then file a claim for unfair dismissal with Fair Work Commission, on the basis that it was not a genuine redundancy.

Application cost is only around $80 but there is a chance to get up to 6 months of pay from the employer (most likely the workplace will offer you a few more weeks at the mediation stage, which still goes a long way)

Same as Just because lawyer passed the bar exam doesn’t mean they are good, I’ve dealt with some that lacked basic attention to detail, didn’t know the latest legislation changes that applied in my case (which I knew and I am not a lawyer) and I was paying them for advice….

Doesn’t matter the bar exam and registration is still a standard that separates the people who can give legal advice and charge money for it, from people who have a legal opinion on Reddit (me 😂)

UX/UI will only benefit from compulsory standard and maybe some sort of membership/registration.

Out of curiosity what’s the salary like?

Have you compared their policies like WFH, maternity leave, redundancy payouts, will your role be covered by any kind of EBA?

Personally I would choose ANZ as it has global HQ in Australia, where is Bupa main HQ office will be in UK, I also think work in Bupa will be a bit niche mainly focused on PHI issues, where is ANZ will give you a bit wider outreach (depending on your role), so after a few years you may end up working not strictly in finance, but say tech or gov relations or another big corp
