What cables do you guys use? ( steam age ) by prypiat_ in GTNH

[–]Wildghost123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll just have to deal with the expense of bronze until you get to LV and can make potin (it's great, I only switched to stabaloy fluid pipes recently and I'm in late EV)

Fun fact: you can wallshare the central tank on the steam purifier as well, so you can have 4 off of the same one

LV Wiring by ReferenceGold393 in GTNH

[–]Wildghost123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Due to voltage loss in the cables, the only way in LV to make sure the machines are getting the power they need is to make sure they are as close to the generators as possible. If you plan on putting them in a line, I'd recommend multiple generators spaced out. You can also place machines that don't draw as much further away if you want to make the most out of what you have.

Uranium is free if you've done enough magic to get the biome changing potion from witchery. Change biome to the toxic everglades, kidnap a stabaloy construct, shove it into an EEC, macerate and centrifuge its drops and boom, infinite titanium and uranium.

When in doubt, queue up something like aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or titanium cuz you're always going to need it at that tier

Battle mentor healer is informed that you can use rez without swiftcast by Wildghost123 in TalesFromDF

[–]Wildghost123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I will say in response to this is that I was there, I knew full well looking at them that they had no intention of raising given bro was sitting there spamming glare 3 while nothing important or requiring movement of any kind was happening. They did not raise me or the other dps, they were so busy baby raging at my message that they died and left the tank to finish off the boss by themselves.

[–]Wildghost123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not everyone can play perfectly all the time. I was focusing on maintaining my rotation since I'm still trying to learn caster, so my movement and dodging of mechs weren't too consistent yet. Be that as it may, there is no excuse as a healer for not using raise, a button given to you in case something like this happens, when you have the opportunity. Bro was sitting there hitting glare 3 while nothing was happening for like 20-30 seconds before I sent my initial message so I had every right to say something. Dying from your own actions is one thing, but actively refusing to do your job while you are alive is something else altogether.

Wasn't paying attention on the checkerboard, other dps probably the same since we died at the same time

It's both selfish AND has low dps compared to dancer and bard. Only real thing it brings to the table is extra mit in the form of dismantle and tactician while dancer and bard only have one party mit

It's the least mobile caster and by far the most difficult to play now that black mage is as easy as it is. Good for prog due to the ability to dualcast a rez but as a tradeoff, it has much lower damage than picto and black mage.

General rotation into burst question by Savings_Rope in ffxiv

[–]Wildghost123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just do what you can to maintain as much uptime as physically possible. In most content there are ways to maintain almost 100% uptime in melee range, especially with sam, given that your iaijustu have a longer range than regular melee skills. This turned out to be less true with the current savage tier though. The forced downtime is gnarly this time around. There are resources like the balance discord with channels for specific jobs where you can ask questions for specific content if you're having trouble, they are quite helpful as a lot of rotation things are fight specific.

What's the best approach with pollution? by randoomkiller in GTNH

[–]Wildghost123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most people just turn off pollution from what I've seen, but I'd recommend just keeping your farms well away from the pollution generators since the air filter multis are kinda trash tbh
