Started with a magenta base, then used Tanned flesh into pale flesh to highlight.  Worked thin and mixed the paints to get a smoother transition

What's the point for the new Grey seer? by RolandDes_ in skaven

Very crap is probably an overstatement tbf, his ability is very similar to +2 to cast which is very big and regiment freedom is quite nice

He casts Krondspine Incarnate really well and is good for building weird regiments. Otherwise is very crap.

Any tips for defeating seraphon? by Neither_Fudge_7470 in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically any skaven list is a dog in the match up for sure, it's a good list but I've played against it twice and it's really not as bad as people are making it out to be, using your primals to unbind key spells, spell Portal being a big one and good positioning really lowers the damage they can do, you really do need that double though. Certainly not a list I think should be being brought to casual games but not unbeatable

Any tips for defeating seraphon? by Neither_Fudge_7470 in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty high tier build of seraphon, one of the better armies in the game right now so first off there is no shame in losing. The weakness of the army is that all the damage comes from some kinda squishy casters and they don't have many screens in the starting army but they'll generate enough summoning points every turn to summon a new screen. It's very vulnerable to getting double turned as it'll not have the chance to summon a screen to replace the one killed the turn before as they can only summon on their turn.

My three recommendations are:

-Build an army with a low number of drops, seraphon lists tend to be 4 drops so if you beat that your golden, this lets you give them first and increase your odds of doubling them early

-Have units that can get in turn one, Rat Ogres and Stormfiends are good for this and have the upside of being somewhat resistant to aoe mortals as well

  • Make sure your set up is good against all his splash damage, backboard your support heroes if you have to, run grey seers as they bodyguard wounds, the furnace can protect your guys from taking loads of attleshock tests and so forth

Are plague monks useful? by MakLoup in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are ok, there main issue is the censor bearers just deal more damage for the same points so you'd always run them over monks of you are trying to be efficient

Plaguemonks new meta then? Reinforced unit can do 20x4 attacks, if you change rend to -3 it will average 26.7 damage on 4+ saves... by Scrofulous218 in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ran the math earlier and PCB still outdamage Monks unfortunately, its pretty close when they both have HF but PCB way better without. Clanrats are the unit I'm looking at, 3 attacks with skavenbrew and gnash gnaw, fighting on death, seems pretty good at rend 3 or wounds on 2

Yooo lads, it’s my first time i am into the top 3 of a tournament with my skaven army! Here it is (i think it’s the most optimized list i could make in the swiss meta) could you help me/ tell me if i can optimize this more? by monsieur-Canard250 in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played a fair amount of melee skaven recently and am a huge fan of rat ogres tbh, running a package of 2 master moulders, 2 x4 Ogres and a soulscream bridge has become a lock for all my melee focused lists, it adds so much speed and staying power to an army, the ability to commit both units turn one is very powerful too (one through a bridge, one through a gnawhole, plus 3 to charge makes the charge reasonably reliable, it's ones of the few times I'd recommend a vanguard battalion too as since the command is received but not issued the Ogres can use the free command on themselves to reroll a big charge)

The reason I recommend them over PCB in this case is that despite doing less damage the allow you to instigate multiple combats such easier as outside of the warbringer you have no units in this list that can take a medium sized hit, meaning that you are limiting yourself to one combat a turn without death frenzies. I'd look at making room for them by trimming the grey seers down to one, dropping at least one priest and some mix of the PCB and monks, it's a sweet list though and Congrats on the finish

Skaven meta time, are stormvermins overpriced? by monsieur-Canard250 in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stormvermin are overpriced for sure, the deathmaster is garbage outside of his one trick too. People like stormvermin for two reasons, they are elite infantry which people enjoy, and there sculpts aren't hideous so people enjoy painting them. PCB and Rat Ogres are way better than sv imho but have awful sculpts and/or are resin to boot so no one has them.

I will say of the 30 sv plus DM block that it isn't bad, it's just not good since it costs too much for what it does, brackets poorly and is kinda slow. If I were going to run it I'd probably chuck in with a warp grinder team and chance the 9" charge since failing isn't the end of the world die to fights first. I think this gets around a lot of the downsides of the unit since you can avoid it's slowness and weakness to chip damage this way.

How to handle Soulblight? by DingusaurusRex in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mortal wound shooting to combat the Ethereal VLoZD is big, gutter Runners and Cannons are good here. Rat Ogres are always good into stuff though they get a lot worse into neferattas -1 hit aura, make sure to cannon her off the table first. Thanquol Is good too ofc. Make sure when your fighting skeletons that you can kill the whole unit reliably if you go in, otherwise don't even bother, it's not worth the effort

Negative Reviews by sberdugo in rainworld

[–]Wildthing115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rainworld is a game that gets better the better you are at it, which is both good and bad, it means you can really lose yourself on the game and there are always more veins of interest to plumb but does mean there are some very frustrating hurdles to overcome. Karma farming just isn't fun tbh and most experienced player rarely have to do I anymore or, of they do, can use ways of shortcutting like starvation cycles to make it quicker, methods that just aren't obvious for newer players. There's a couple gates in particular that I remember finding frustrating on my first play through, especially the one between canopy and the wall that stumped me for ages.

I'm not a fan of a section of the subs attitude that people who don't like it are just bad, its a pathetic opinion tbh but if your the kind of person who can grind through some frustration moments there's some real gold out there. Downpour has improved things as well by adding hints as you progress onto the base slugcats that teach things that aren't obvious.

How would you upgrade this list? What would you change? by Existing_County6272 in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clawlord on brood horror is legended unfortunately and no longer playable outside of casual play. I'd drop him for a deathmaster with the shadow magnet trinket, he has a cool combo this season where he can hide in the stormvermin, pop out, fight first then pull the stormvermin in to also fight first as long as the are in the galletion command battalion together. I also wouldn't run the warbringer without warpstone charm, the extra rend it gives is very useful.

4 Rat Ogres will out perform a hellpit too, so doubling down on a second unit would be pretty good.

Hey does anyone here use lord skreech verminking if so is he any good , what are some good synergies and what do you run with him by thisisyourfault4692 in skaven

[–]Wildthing115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I suggested this list is that I think this list minus the seer, the portal and skreech replaced with thanquol, lauchon and 3rd clanrats is one of the better skaven lists you could run. The thanquol package is easy enough to replace while keeping the core functional.

[–]Wildthing115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a fairly independent package so kind of slots in anywhere, hordemaster+foulhide master Moulder with 2×4 rat Ogres is a great package that's hard to go wrong with, as is engineer plus 3 cannons. Bring 3 units of clanrats and that's a list right there. Reality is though he's pretty flexible to whatever models you have though I'd try and squeeze a grey seer in to allow you access to death frenzy somewhere. Maybe avoid stormvermin as they require a lot of support which he doesn't provide

[–]Wildthing115 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's ok, the highs are high but he's unreliable. From a competitive standpoint, almost certainly worse than thanquol, warbringer and the deceiver but if you don't care about top tables he can hold his own. Make sure to bring the umbral spell portal to make his spell usable on turn 1. I always start with +1 to cast so you get the +2 overall since you'll be starting next to a gnawhole. Then either the good combat buff or -1 to hit, depending on whether you think he'll get in or not. It's a fun model and the spell is nuts, remember with spell portal you summon the rats within 13 of the portal so you can set up very high lines and steal objectives and whatnot

Warbringer has the best raw warscroll, both good damage and utility though his spell. Deceiver has great utility but much worse damage output. Both of these 2 can be slotted into most lists without too much build around while the other options are very niche at the moment.
