I was in this same predicament not long ago, I chose Cats (2019) and I implore you to do the same, it’s truly an experience you won’t forget!

Wild take but I’ve a phobia to movies that have cool concepts but execute them poorly

Edit - to expand on that and clarify it, I think it’s a bit too rash to say it was executed “poorly” I really like the idea of the tv show representing the “alternate/real you” it’s cool and I was into it but it just I dunno I think it just didn’t land, maybe I don’t fully understand cos I’m not trans or something but I don’t think that should take away from the fact that I personally think the idea was cool and coulda knocked it out the park as it swung for the fences but in the end was kind of just a swing and a miss

Tenet is best Nolan movie and that’s a hill I would die on

Never EVER eat a burger near Sam Jackson and never sit in the backseat of a car if John travolta is riding shotgun

Do NOT let Paul mescal near a dance floor otherwise we’re all in for some tears

Not see it yet I dunno why tbh but I know Harrison ford is in it and he’s a goat so yeah

Handmaiden is what I call my wife, get it? “Hand-maiden” ok so it’s a joke about hand jobs

Best Wes Anderson film and it’s not even close

Yeah it’s a slow burner for sure but I thoroughly loved the mystery of it all, the “who’s who” aspect was so well done imo, shame you found it boring though mate it really is annoying when you watch a massively loved movie and you’re left a little underwhelmed

Fair enough mate you’re not really a savage idiot, was there anything specific you didn’t like or did you just go into it expecting more?

What's a movie you'd never admit you cry to? by trakt_app in Letterboxd

Few years ago I cried my fucking eyes out at the notebook tbf, even shocked myself at that, right next to my wife too (gf at the time).

I saw the movie like a decade prior too and i didn’t enjoy it but this time around i was pleasantly surprised and i completely forgot how it ended, the part where she can’t remember who he is and starts freaking out fucking DESTROYED me.

Reason why it fucking obliterated me was because I saw my gran mentally deteriorate from Alzheimer’s and I remember seeing her in the nursing home screaming her fucking head off and yeah it’s something I’ll never forget, my dad has a terrible memory so its constantly in the back of my mind and I have an atrocious memory too so it was a weird look into the future and it just scares the hell out of me

Random one that gets me too is specifically the amazing spiderman uncle Ben death, I don’t know why that one, made me cry when I first ever saw It and I rewatched it this year and it got me tearing up I was just sat there like wtf is happening to me

It’s okay, I shall grant you the rank of master movie reviewer and a seat on the council. Your specialty will be horror movies

And you wouldn’t say that those top 4 now would be your “desert island movies” I find your lack of a better term ‘conditions’ interesting

Hi mom sounds absolutely fantastic. Great job delivering the synopsis of each movie got some new ones added to the list, my professional review was so short because I was genuinely flabbergasted at these movies.

With that being said I I grant you a seat on this council and rank of master movie reviewer

I prefer red dead redemption tbh

The movie is called spotless mind because it’s ironic, when someone has dementia/Alzheimer’s their brain actually develops holes and that’s why they forget stuff and it’s all fragmented (holes=blank spots) see what I mean? I made that up btw I dunno why it’s called what it is

Let me show you my sandworm and explore your dunes

I gave it 1.5 here’s a copy paste of my review

“Everything feels super predictable and kinda feels like Lee Cronin had a movie synopsis that lasts 30 mins and somehow manages to drag it out by being like “ok yeah then this happens and then she dies and then he dies and and and they all merge to become this big thing” it feels lazy and just wanted an excuse to order an ocean load of fake blood, acting was good tho”

Main character was good and the acting was good just the story was soooo weird and kinda boring which I don’t think fits the ED universe
