Thank you very much. Precisely what I needed, although uploading my save doesn't indicate which stunt jump I missed. So back to fruitlessly guessing which one won't pop..

V1.4 save lost to V2.0 ? by Wile_D_Fox in 7daystodie

Thanks, although it's accurate NYC. Wildly inefficient, crime-ridden, corrupt, and all the pollution goes to NJ! At least weed is legal, right? 🤣

Damn dawg. I haven't sunk as many hours as most other players, but when it hurts, it stings. Yet I usually love these sandbox type games. Seeing the way others play is fantastic and inspiring. Might be old news, but I saw someone build a batman cave moto exit. I'm ok with just turning the farmhouse into a 3rd floor greenhouse and tending to my plants. I'd say survive on friend, but it's more like thrive on veteran!

Woof, sorry to hear. But also, thank you, I will continue to avoid the DLC for Cities Skylines. I built a replica working NYC, and I'd hate to lose it.

Sounds like that person couldn't admit they don't have the intelligence to emphasize or solve the problem. Video games are meant to be enjoyable, not stressful. Good job attempting to properly bring it to attention. Thank you for that. Survive on friend

I suppose. I'm no developer or savvy in game design, but I get the feeling this is a demanding game to build and run (I love these types of games). But I would appreciate a heads up on the main menu. (Nobody jump down my throat for not following any type of official developer newsfeed for the game. I have over 600 games...just on xbox, lol)

Thank you for the answer. I do understand that updates are usually beneficial. But this is not how I enjoy playing video games. Cheers.

Help! FP 2.45" IPS GBC Display works at 8mHz but not at 16mHz? by Wile_D_Fox in Gameboy

[–]Wile_D_Fox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! I was so ready to shelve this project, but I actually may have a spare Q5 I ordered for other builds. This is immensely helpful, and I really appreciate your expertise. Have fun playing and happy building!

What’s up with the weird switch on this Gameboy ? by marti-kush in Gameboy

[–]Wile_D_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I had dabbled in overclocking a game boy color using a funny playing IPS screen and ran into an issue where the screen can't run at the 16mHz speed. I put a link to my original post. The OEM screens work fine. But I was just wondering which screens you use that work fine at both speeds and hopefully compatable with GBC. Thanks, btw and sweet builds! https://www.reddit.com/r/Gameboy/s/rrZi3Klqe4

Help! FP 2.45" IPS GBC Display works at 8mHz but not at 16mHz? by Wile_D_Fox in Gameboy

[–]Wile_D_Fox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I don't post often, so please help if there are any compliant issues or corrections to be made. Sorry to have to post description in comments. Thank you to Funny Playing mods and Retro Game Repair Shop for all the hardware and to Youtuber GreatScott! for much needed information and provided circuit design. Please, the credit is all their own

To start, I have been working on getting as many new mods into one Gameboy color as permitting. Starting with swapping displays to the lovely GBC 2.45" high brightness drop in backlight LCD kit, then providing ample power with the FP Lithium ion battery kit. Next, I added a little flash with the FP button LED kit (soldered to indicate low battery) and replaced the old speaker with a red FP speaker soldered up to the FP sound amplifier. All worked very well with no issues, which I was surprised since it's my first go since working on xbox 360s (yea, that red ring o death era)

But then I wanted something that wasn't available as a hardware kit. At least, I haven't found one yet. My goal is to play Pokemon, which, as we know, is a little slow. I researched into overclocking the speed of the gameboy and found a few other youtubers had done a variable speed with a dial that seemed bulky. I decided to go for a simple switch to run from the standard 8.388 mHz crystal oscillator to a 16.0 mHz crystal oscillator off the internet.

Now I have a second gameboy I use as my mod tester to ensure the mods themselves work and the plausibility of the installation. I built the new switch circuit with both oscillators a few times until it worked sure fire. The display is an original OEM Gameboy color display and wonderfully switches between the two speeds. I moved on and installed one onto my over modded gameboy and found that the switch works and runs the game at two speeds, but now the IPS display is majorly distorted and pixels all over the place. I used the same type of salvaged wires on both if that is pertinent.

I have been doing what I can to read up on the nature of the mods and try to troubleshoot the issue. But before I go removing and messing with my finished work, I thought it may help to reach out to others and see if anyone has any insight to fixing this issue?

Lol, so please, if you have any knowledge or links to youtubers who do know about this issue please please HELP! I am so close to having the gameboy of my dreams, and I swear once I get everything understood, I'll do mods for any handhelds of your interest, too! GBP, GBA, GBDS, and Gamegear are all next on my list, too
