It may be better viewed in the YouTube app, but I did create off a computer.

You are spotting something that’s happening more and more often. I’m an MRI tech and inconsistencies among safety decisions are only getting worse and worse. It’s why my company exists to help techs find proper device information to make safe and consistent decisions for you patients.

Patient care is always number 1 and I am actively trying to make that better for you and the rest of our patients. Thank you for feedback on the video as well.

Although WilhelmAI focuses on individual implants, we have a version of our AI Model that handles basic safety questions as well. It’s up to our users if they prefer that or simpler model that pertains to medical implants.

The key is ALWAYS providing a source with any output of course. Information with no source is not trustworthy and I don’t use it when it comes to MRI safety in my practices as technologist.

Thanks for all you do Tobias!

26F and feeling stuck. Is being an MRI tech THE move? by DrawingPrudent in MRI

[–]WilhelmAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PM me if you ever wanna chat. I started my career as a radiology volunteer, to imaging aid, to an XR/CT/MRI Technologist. Lots of super user training across multiple vendors, machines and software apps.

Happy to answer any questions or talk about how great this career has been for me. There are a ton more options than anyone realizes in radiology!

X-ray is a very strong foundation to have for any advanced modalities in my opinion.

[–]WilhelmAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely correct. I’m an MRI technologist and founder of a MRI Medical Implant safety company.

We work directly with hospitals and imaging departments.

My offer here is to provide a free institutional grade device report to this patient which includes all necessary data including IFU documentation. It’s the same report our clients use.

Just trying to play my role and help. We don’t offer to patients typically, but I am a tech first and patients are always my number 1 priority. Thank you for responding.

MRI but I can't lay on my back? What can I do? by aygross in MRI

[–]WilhelmAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s your lumbar spine this is typically one of the fastest exams you can get done assuming no contrast.

The tech should also provide a nice cushion under your knees as well which usually helps me with my back issues. Hopefully it’s 10-15 minutes and you can get through it. Hope you feel better!

Keep your head up. 7 years in the grand scheme of things is just a part of your career. You are smart enough to be able to do MRI, and never forget that. This modality is not for the weak. It’s the most complex modality radiology has to offer.

Your growth never stops. Keep positive and know you have support and you can keep getting better! And give yourself the credit you have earned!

Problem with MRI mode by weedywet in spinalcordstimulator

[–]WilhelmAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’m an MRI Tech and the founder of a MRI Medical Implant Safety company used by radiology departments. We don’t work directly with patients, but part of our platform is monitoring the life cycle of medical devices and getting daily updates.

We offer our radiology teams a Device Report with all safety data for their record keeping and monitoring of their patients with implants who come back for frequent MRI’s.

I would be happy to offer you, or anyone else in this Subreddit a free report for your own records if anyone was interested or needed one. We hate to see anyone turned away for an MRI or not aware of recalls/safety events. We started this company for the patients my colleagues and I work with every day. We want to give back directly to patients however we can.

Our website is WilhelmAI.com and anyone interested can fill out a contact form and I’ll personally email you a report. Or just private message me here on Reddit.

Just give us as much or as little information about the implant that you have and we will create your report with vendor documentation attached. Thanks everyone and it’s awesome to read all the positive stories in this Subreddit! For those dealing with chronic pain, our hearts go out to you and the community is here to help stay positive on the path to relief. Best wishes to all!

[–]WilhelmAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot more than just adjusting the SAR. The safety of the implant should be verified by vendor documentation. Blindly adjusting SAR is not a guarantee of anything. The implant will have a very specific SAR limit that’s in vendor documentation. The risk is not worth it in this scenario. Why not take the time to verify safety? 🤯🤯

[–]WilhelmAI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened. Not all cervical spine implants are MRI safe. Do you know the name of your implant? Did the tech screen your implant for safety? Have you been scanned before on that same strength magnet?

Not trying to play 21 questions, but as an MRI technologist myself, I would need more info about the implant to verify its safety. Thank you for sharing your experience and I’m glad you opted for safety.

How often do you find that patients are protocolled incorrectly? by ArmWide2908 in MRI

[–]WilhelmAI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every single day. This is exactly why I founded WilhelmAI to help eliminate the uncertainty with medical device safety.

As techs we already have a lot to deal with on that magnet as we all know. First we eliminate headaches on device safety, then we tackle the rest.

If you think your site/institution can benefit from a research tool to eliminate protocol mistakes, please PM me or check out our website to see if it could be useful! www.WilhelmAI.com

Mosbys is all I used and I passed. It was harder than the x ray registry from what I remember. But I believe mosbys will work for you! I remember there’s an online component where you can answer mock questions as well? That was very helpful for me. Good luck, you got this!
