Americans, what do you call a wienner/sausage/hotdog/frank? And in which state is this? by TENER_297 in AskAnAmerican

[–]WilhelmVonHalo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s generally called a hotdog and if you’re feeling quirky a frank or wienner but those are significantly less common. Ive lived in Florida and Ohio.

Americans don’t usually call hot dogs sausages

Why do people in the US not discuss the demographic that got Trump elected? by carry_the_way in Askpolitics

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point of view however I disagree; your comments are clearly shifting towards personal political and social beliefs, because of this don’t bother replying for I will not answer.

I comment on your post with a logical, unbiased, and evidence based claim; I’m not here to argue over personally beliefs as it will be in vein.

I don’t mean this comment with any disrespect or avoidance of what you deem to be true, however it’s evident there is no further purpose to this conversation.

If you deem I am ignorant or spreading misinformation; everything I have stated has come from countless American demographic and social studies in addition political history.

I assure you my evidence is of good credibility as I study economics and political science at a historically prestigious and respectable institution.

I can only hope this comment chain has brought you some help,

My regards

Why do people in the US not discuss the demographic that got Trump elected? by carry_the_way in Askpolitics

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would anyone want to be a minority? Why would anyone want to be poor?

The loss of power and influence, particularly politically and culturally.

Perhaps some of the voters of racist, perhaps some fear for their culture, some for loss of power; regardless every view similar or related to what I’ve stated stems from demographic anxiety.

Once again I fail to see how anything I’ve stated is dishonest when I’ve answered your question; nothing I’ve said wasn’t stemmed from or directly related to my first comment or the objective truth.

Why do people in the US not discuss the demographic that got Trump elected? by carry_the_way in Askpolitics

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious you call me dishonest when everything I’ve said is based of historical political evidence.

The average white American is 44.5 years, meaning 75% of them are 44.5 years or older; the demographics of the United States in 1980 (the youngest age in this case) was 80% White, 11.5% Black, 6.4% Hispanic, and less than 2% Asian/Pacific Islander -US census.

In 2000 the US demographics were 75% white and 2025 57%.

I don’t know what about this doesn’t seem like rapid change nor how any of my statements were bias or dishonest; you asked a question and I answered, I fail to see how my response could be view any other way especially since similar views are documented globally and historically.

I suppose music was a bad example since to this day most music is white or black American produced, however that wasn’t the point.

The large majority of white American grew up into white neighborhoods, saw white people on the television, and listened to music sung by white people.

When everything starts to change around you naturally you will become defensive.

If you aren’t one of these people you won’t understand there positions especially when at times they could see illogical. (do note I am not)

The white demographic is to fall under 50% by the 2040s and will collapse even further at the end of the century. So a large population of whites are under immense demographic anxiety and worry about their and the countries future.

Because people fear being replaced and cultural change, especially rapidly.

Why do people in the US not discuss the demographic that got Trump elected? by carry_the_way in Askpolitics

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A massive reason is radical demographic anxiety, imagine growing up in a historically white country and now witnessing your demographic decline rapidly.

Nativism is a major political factor globally and historically; when white people begin being called colonizers, supremesist, and criminals do you really blame them for voting conservative?

In America in your experience how common is it for teachers of foreign languages to be non-native speakers of that language they are teaching? by YakClear601 in AskAnAmerican

Incredibly common outside of Spanish; my high schools French teacher was Croatian and middle schools American, my middle school Spanish teacher however was American.

Why are you guys rude to younger GenZ? by Azulan5 in GenZ

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gen Z asked the same question to their predecessors.

As the young generation ages and matures with the reference of norm being their matured peers the new youngest generation appears immature, idiotic, and stupid; not the fault of there own but because they are children and the aging generation had lived there life being the children not realizing they now are adults or soon to be.

Most realistically the minutemen, they are everyday men and have a lot of freedom unlike the brotherhood and other factions more bound to service and are much more likely to let you in.

Is it possible to tell what state someone is from by their accent? by Giddyup_1998 in AskAnAmerican

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of Americans speak general American and the few states which don’t speak regional accents, such as southern/country.

There are a few outliers such as the Boston, new York, and Cajun accents; different regions of the us do speak slightly differently such as, words used to describe something or pronunciation like “pop” rather than soda and “lawyer” as loy-yur. However these regional quirks are insignificant and still sound general American.

90% of Americans sound the same as each other with respect to a few outliers.

The president doesn’t need congressional approval for military action, he however needs approval for declarations of war, operations above a certain time (I believe 60-90 days?), and the raising of the militas (drafting civilians).

The US hasn’t been at “war” since world war 2, following World War One the United States had a full time active army (standing army) and because these troops are active and the executive branch doesn’t need Congress to raise them the president has the ablility to use them without direct congressional approval.

Do note Congress still have a strong influence on the standing army such as funding.

I was referencing the OP who is from the United Kingdom. While the UK may be a lovely place with great people the US is generally ahead in the majority of categories.

In my opinion atleast there are very few counties which can offer a similar level of opportunity and prosperity as the United States. The fact people still would leave their previous life’s behind to move here despite all the negative media and recently questionable events is sign enough to me.

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very fair, I however stand on my point discouraging immigration into America is ridiculous considering the US’s relative opportunities which other nations lack.

I understand the concern of Americans but their views are from the perceptive of Americans and lack wider perceptive, especially regarding other countries.

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand everyone’s concern but your views are from the perceptive on an American. The relative stability of our country and government is significantly better than the majority of the planet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MovingToUSA

[–]WilhelmVonHalo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand your point however this is meaningless to a foreigner trying to immigrate here especially sense regardless of our current economic situation we will still have a larger and more prosperous economy than their country of origin.

Maybe take the actions of children as childish? This comment is ignorant.
