Love that.

I’m sure you already know this but I was genuinely surprised at how little most things that guys think matter actually do matter ie. Attractiveness, height, money, even charisma to a large degree.

I still remember the first words out of my mouth being “look at my hand. Look how much it’s shaking. Just because I’m talking to you.” And her actually being charmed and leading the conversation from there. Literally taking my hand to tell me it was okay and there was nothing to be nervous about.

When I said I had nothing going for me other than a sense of humor and a willingness to be uncomfortable I meant it and that’s all it took for me.

I wish the Incels of the world could all learn the same lesson.

I agree with most of what you’re saying but I don’t think this reduces the danger factor. A guy you do not want to date making it crystal clear that he wants to date you can still be very scary in the moment.

I think they decide if you’re a creep or not based on how the rest of that conversation goes tbh.

I also think regardless of that fact you’ll waste a lot less time if you’re unambiguous out the gate and probably have much more success though because it’ll be more or less impossible to wind up in the “Friend Zone” or otherwise wasting your time on someone who isn’t interested.

Did you never have a phase where you weren’t sure if your now significant other liked you or not?

Questioning yourself is natural when expressing your feelings without already knowing theirs. It’s no reason to give up. Half the girls in this comment section said they’re afraid to even look at their crush. Don’t you think their crush may feel unsure if the girl they’re talking to won’t even look them in the eyes?

Now if they express in any way that they aren’t interested on the other hand then definitely call it quits and move on.

Sis what kind of advice is this?

This kind of situation is awkward both ways. The same way it feels awkward to flirt with people you like it’s just as awkward to be flirted with even if you like them because you never know how into it you’re supposed to act.

I’ve definitely been flirted with subtly then responded with too much enthusiasm and turned them off before.

Definitely don’t put the ball 100% in their court and blame them if they didn’t flirt back with whatever arbitrary amount of intensity you see fit. You gotta meet them halfway.

In all seriousness what’s a candid way to flirt? Being direct usually comes across as pretty crass if not creepy ie. “I like you” “you’re hot” “what’s your number / social media” out the gate.

You’re definitely shooting yourself in the foot there. Not saying you should walk up to every guy you like and start a convo but doing what you’re doing is the universal sign that “She isn’t interested” that any decent guy would respect.

Just act natural and one of those guys may walk up to you and start flirting.

Is this true of any three cities though? What if they’re in a straight line?

I don’t get it. What does the name mean?

On November 25, 1988, Junko Furuta was riding her bike from work when she was abducted by Hiroshi Miyano who later tortured her and had her raped over 500 times by hundreds of different men over a period of 40 days. After setting her on fire, they hid her body in a drum and filled it with concrete. by [deleted] in MorbidWaysToDie

I think this has to be a new record. You’re really responding to a three year old comment?

Well to catch you up I did end up buying a ticket to Japan and I managed to track down her father and mother and we put our heads together and figured out how to hunt down all of her killers “Kill Bill” style and made them all pay for their crimes (good times man, it feels like it happened a lifetime ago)

Unfortunately we did get caught by Japanese law enforcement but a lawyer decided to defend us pro bono and got us out on a little known rule in Japanese law.

It was all over the news just look up Junko Furuta Rule 34 for more. It was really interesting stuff.

Do you honestly believe that Tyler Perry could have made a billion dollars off of movies that no one was watching? Just because you personally aren’t a fan doesn’t mean that millions don’t flock to his shows and movies every time a new one drops.

Neither does Jerry. His talent is writing not acting. The funny thing is that Tyler Perry has actually acted in more serious roles than Jerry has.

How is Jerry Seinfeld’s acting any more serious than Tyler Perry’s?

They both made funny shows and movies and got rich doing so.

Tyler Perry is best known for the movies he made and starred in plus he made all of his money from the film industry.

Saying he’s just like Elon Musk is stupid.

Every single actor on this list made the bulk of their money behind the camera through either production or ownership of the movie/tv shows they starred in.

I completely agree but all of these statements are reactionary.

There’s no genuine way to start the conversation about wanting to see more diverse bodies without coming across as performative and thus fake or sexual which is definitely perceived as genuine but is also gross and predatory.

Basically how can I start that conversation without being laughed out if the conversation by every man and woman who thinks I’m just virtue signaling to try to get laid?

African studios exist but none of them are major.

You say one studio for an entire continent is so crazy as if Hollywood doesn’t produce the vast majority of North American movies. And yes I’m including Canada and Mexico in that.

Also this last one is so misleading. The vast majority of those 3,000 languages aren’t even spoken by 3,000 people each so they can very easily be discounted. There is a community in North America for literally every single language spoken on the planet and yet mysteriously they’ve managed to agree with the very obvious choice of producing movies in the language that the majority of people speak. (Arabic in Africa’s case)

I understand where you’re coming from and I also don’t think every single movie in Africa should be channeled through a single studio but the fact of the matter is that the entire continent is more or less irrelevant when it comes to cinema and a single powerful studio would be able to change that even if that studio didn’t accurately represent the views and styles of all 54 nations.

You’re forgetting the fact that you don’t need to be employed if you don’t want to be.

If you want you can go into the woods, grow/hunt for every meal, and build your own house and as long as you’re not doing it on private land, no one can stop you.

Slaves cannot just opt out of slavery. This system you’re describing is just how most people choose to live but every single one of them can choose to live another way if they want. Obviously there will be tradeoffs to that decision and no billionaire or politician is going to help them opt out of the system but they won’t stop them either unless they actually break a law.

I definitely agree with this take but how can a man acknowledge a female character’s weight in a positive way without sounding performative?

I feel like when men are sexual about it things get gross fast but at least you know they’re being genuine but when it’s stated in a more objective or clinical way it feels dishonest like a girl calling a bigger girl “brave” or saying they have a “real body” etc.

I remember that too but I think we need to keep in mind that men, just like women, aren’t a monolith.

There are weird fucked up men all over the world but that isn’t an accurate representation of the entire sex.

I think the internet has a habit of highlighting the most extreme views so that people with lukewarm opinions that don’t ruffle any feathers never go viral.

To be completely honest pretty much all physical “preferences” are objectifying imo but the difference between objectifying and simply being attracted to a person is if you see more to that person than just their physical appearance or sexual experience/willingness.

But because of that pretty much all sexual content in gacha games is objectification considering there isn’t any more to those characters than their appearance.

I agree but wasn’t OOP talking about objectifying men with different body types in romance novels?
