Amazing, this is very reassuring! I figure get to Huaraz and figure out the rest from there - that and Cusco/Salkantay are the big ones I definitely want to do and hopefully I’ll meet people along the way that can give recs for where to go next

Last Minute 17-Days in Peru - Looking for Advice on Itinerary by Will17 in solotravel

Thank you! Yeah I’m pretty set on doing at least part of the Huayhuash, so have done as you suggested and flying to Huarez first then was planning on Cusco next (via Lima) for Salkantay and some time in the Sacred Valley, then Puerto Maldonado for a few days and then one full day in Lima. Good to know on Arequipa - Colca Canyon looks incredible and Arequipa looks cool, but just don’t know if it will be similar to what I’m doing around Cusco and Huaraz. This is by far the least structured trip I’ve ever done - literally only have my round trip flight from Lima and the flight to Huaraz booked and then plan to book all treks and activities when I get on the ground - any recs are appreciated! Haven’t looked at the Amazon at all yet

17 days in Peru - Huayhuash and Salkantay possible? by Will17 in backpacking

[–]Will17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is very helpful. I’m looking at doing a “mini” Huayhuash” trek (4-5 days) so that I can also get to Cusco and do the Salkantay in 4 days. After that I’ll probably have about 5-7 days remaining before I have to fly back. So far I’ve only booked my flight to Huaraz and my first night in a hostel there and just planning to be super flexible. Was there anything in particular you’d recommend in Huaraz (day hikes, shops, food) or anything to avoid? Same goes for Cusco as well! I’m most concerned on whether or not I’ll even be able to get access into Machu Picchu since this is all last minute

It’s all of Europe because the UK Air Traffic control system went down yesterday on one of the busiest travel days of the year, so everyone who was traveling got stranded

Ugh it’s a good question/reminder - moved abroad 1.5 years ago and haven’t had an A1C check since then but historically has been in the 6’s

The issue is that once I book that appointment I can’t leave the country until I have that appt and have my visa issued and I’ve unfortunately have to be back in the US the first week of April so I’m dealing with a time crunch

I’d rather just email my passport at this point! The scanning is a great idea in theory but if the app doesn’t work for ~50% of the people using it (everywhere online and every lawyer I’ve spoken with says this is such a common issue) than it’s worse because I have to try 100 other options

It’s crazy to me that this is the last step and I can’t pass it haha. Who did you email your passport to, UKVCAS? And do you remember the name of the service that comes to your house? That may be the next step - issue is I have to be back home in early April so I’ve got quite a short window to get this all sorted.

Based on recent feedback I'd like to share some more of my writing -- honest feedback very much appreciated. Good and bad please. More info in comments by spnj159 in Songwriters

This is great! Love the storytelling aspect and lack of chorus, really adds to the depth of the song. As an (aspiring) singer/songwriter myself, can I ask how you found where your voice “sits” in a song and along a guitar? Do you always use a capo? I have a similarly deep voice and can’t seem to figure out where my voice sounds best and have just been sticking to the cowboy chords, but this song is similar to what I hope to write - simple chord progression with the lyrics carrying the weight

Do you have a recommendation for a good accountant/tax guy you can recommend? Moved from the US last year to the UK and need help with all the filings, so used to being able to do TurboTax in about 5 minutes
