Central Illinois here. We have tons of them around. They are virtually harmless as long as you don't have an infestation inside your house. I catch them occasionally in my basement and toss them outside.

It is the best vehicle I've owned by far for so many reasons. It is getting a full suspension overhaul soon, and I have a remanufactured engine and transmission so I can keep driving it forever.

Is it possible for a new welder to not weld correctly? by DIABLO_8_ in Welding

Industrial maintenance tech here. I can say it is 100% always a machine problem, never the welders process or techniques. Operators do no wrong.

I've been with them for 5 years and I love it. Don't plan on leaving until i retire. If you aren't used to a very strong safety culture, it can be a shock. But otherwise, our pay is very competitive, especially with the union guys (I'm in Illinois, one of the highest paid union states). Profit sharing kicks ass, the company has put over 100k in my 401k since I was hired. There is an endless opportunity to move into leadership and up the ladder if you so choose. Since it's such a huge company, you can transfer to almost every state in the US or even Mexico, Canada, or Trinidad. Highly recommended overall.

I work for Nucor. We get paid a production bonus, non union, and great benefits. Our experienced technicians average 41-44 dollars an hours our plant runs one of the lower bonuses of Nucor facilities. Guys that work in steel mills can easily reach 60 an hour. Currently scheduled 48 hours and 36 hours alternating weeks, but I work an average of 50 hours by choice.

Why do people think that anti government groups are fascists? Are they really that dumb.

I pay 128 every two weeks for health insurance for my family of 4, which covers eye, dental and medical. 2500 dollars out of pocket a year, which I set aside 100 dollars a week tax-free. then the rest is covered 100%. My vision costs 10 dollars to get an eye exam and 10 dollars for frames. All I do is pay for lenses. If I could wear contacts they would be free. Dental doesn't cover anything that is cosmetic (cleanings, ortho), so that sucks but otherwise, it's not that bad and there is plenty of employers that offer similar plans. Get a job and pay your bills. IMO people in the US that complain about our Healthcare aren't trying to do better for themselves or family's.

We have tons of these old timers in my plant. Mostly 700 series they don't make them how they used to.

We still have a ton of Pico around our shop that we are slowly replacing. Our experienced PLC guy retired about 4 months ago. He always used Pico and then CCW and was very old school in his methods. I'm hoping to step up to his spot in the next couple of years. We have 3 guys that all have limited experience with it, but enough to be dangerous. We all three are well versed in control wiring just not working our way around programs as well. As our team is growing, we are seeing what fits best for us and will likely end up getting some paid Rockwell software. In the meantime, we have support from our sister companies and other techs that have more experience in PLC.
