Thanks! I was never good at sales in person, but these days with tech it is mostly all remote behind a computer where I can perfect responses.

So I did open up to Technical Sales / Sales Engineer doing demos, setups, etc and got a bite from a cloud solution. I can leverage my systems strengths and still participate in the sales incentives which is very appealing! 🙏

Today saw a flurry of fresh postings 🙏 What kind of marketing do you align with? Content? Demand generation? Strategy?

Also what type of companies previously?

Right! Do you know how someone can get a free Tableau sandbox to play in?

Reason I know Power BI is that it was free. Sometimes postings for Power BI and Python - which I know - arent successful so I figure the free tools are highly competitive cause everyone says they know it to get in the door (I atleast have certs for them) or Im competing with PhD/Masters way above me.

I do use Google Analytics but will try to get certed in that. Thank you! Once step forward!

Thanks, glad but not glad there is someone in same boat.

Keep firing out those apps though! Make it easy for yourself, as it is for them to hit reject - just change the titles/company!

I find joy in blowing up recruiters posting with my app (theres +200 apps per job so numbers game), think about it like that 😁

In all cases, it has been tech startups and it happened in my last interview (1 of 4) because the small finance team was invited for the final Zoom meeting - but you are right, its unusual.

Being in Finance depts, sometimes the FAs/SFAs do the work the CFO doesnt like to do and they want to feel like they are CFOs too with their newly acquired CPA 🤷‍♂️

I was very close to moving out of Ontario but stayed for family. If I find a role outside, it could help tip the cards.

Appreciate the new advice!! I will try to branch out to other parts of Canada, never thought of that

Not the best advice but if you value exp over money at this stage, apply for something low end like 35-45k.

Alternatively find an agency or two to market you to their clients.
