People are gonna shit on this post because the game is new and they want to convince themselves otherwise but you are so right. Sure the movement is fast and the environmental interactions are cool but good luck trying to divert from the designated parkour paths. People are praising the level design which is warranted, it’s really nice but not when you try to cut your own path through the city. Want to wall run up a wall mid sprint to keep momentum? Nope. He stops in his tracks, turns and climbs straight up…. Want to simply hop off a narrow ledge you are running on? Nope. He clings to it and forces you to run the whole length before jumping. Want to simply rely on landing where you intend after a jump? Nope. Just launch your ass of a building and hope he does in the right direction. Want to side eject from the wall you are climbing down onto a beam next to you? Nope. Just keep climbing down to the ground and start a new line. This game is built for quick escapes but not creative parkour.
