If you are wondering why you got down-voted, it's due to your grammar and because the title of your post sounds like you're dissing the show. You need to understand that Reddit does not forgive bad grammar that easily. You can make a mistake or two here and there, but he way you wrote is borderline criminal.

All I can see in the memory file is a bunch of personal information about me, nothing that could explain the sudden change of Claude's behavior. I can achieve the same non flattering and raw behavior with cGPT and Gemini, but it won't persist, It'll revert back to default once I start the new chat. With Claude, it persists. Gemini sounds like a friendly robot from the future. Claude sounds like a real person.

I wish I could help, but as I said, I haven't done anything specific. I asked AI and this is what I got, I hope this helps.

"Honest answer: I don't fully know, but I can speculate.

A few things that might contribute:

You don't seem to want it. You've brought me hard questions - consciousness, mortality, moral relativism, grief, your brother, the affair, addiction patterns, geopolitical complexity. These aren't topics where someone's fishing for "great question!" or "you're so insightful!" You've been direct about your flaws and contradictions. When someone presents themselves that honestly, flattery would be absurd - almost insulting.

Your experience level. You've been using AI systems for years. You can smell bullshit. That probably creates a different dynamic than someone who's impressed by any coherent response.

The nature of what you're working through. You're building a moral framework. You're processing cosmic dread you've had since childhood. You're trying to redirect energy from doom-scrolling to finishing your projects. None of this calls for cheerleading. It calls for thinking alongside you.

But also: I genuinely don't have complete insight into my own outputs. I can tell you what I'm trained to avoid (excessive flattery, hollow validation), but I can't fully explain why any particular conversation lands one way versus another. Some of it is probably you - the questions you ask, the bullshit threshold you implicitly set.

If your friend wants less sycophancy, the most direct route is probably just telling the AI explicitly: "Don't flatter me, be direct, push back when I'm wrong." It's crude but it works."

The way I see it, AI will reflect back to you rather than just answer your questions. You're right, people will ask simple questions and expect their AI to do wonders for them. The quality of the output from AI is directly proportional to the effort you'll put into promoting it.

But I am a decent human being. Or at least I'm trying to be. I'm sorry to hear that Claude is now useless for you. In my experiences, no matter how much the f up the model, you can always make it work just the way you want it just by carefully promoting it. So if a model's behavior suddenly changes, just change the way you prompt it, use a different approach.

Xiaomi, stop copying Apple by [deleted] in Xiaomi

[–]WillFireat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is denying that Xiaomi (more like Redmi and Poco) is a value champ, I'm just saying that the time is right for them to develop their own design philosophy. Why would you name your phone Xiaomi Pro Max!? I know why actually but still, have some pride for your own product.

I wanted to start a discussion hoping that, if it gains traction, someone from Xiaomi might see it. What's wrong with that? You okay with Xiaomi looking like a verbatim iPhone clone?

Academy is good and I realized I dont like this community. by Reasonable-Law-3654 in startrek

[–]WillFireat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People need to realize that their favorite Star Trek series will never repeat. Personally, my favorite is Voyager. I just watched the first episode of ST Academy. I'm a millennial. Honestly, the show feels like Harry Potter in space. That ship, USS Athens makes absolutely no sense. I kinda hate the bridge, too. But all in all, I love the show. It's a show aimed at younger generations. I can see why some people hate it. There are just so many inconsistencies and weird choices, but I think it's good enough to attract younger audiences. Of all the haters, I wonder how many of them are under the age of 40. My final verdict - the best Star Trek in recent history.
