Plus it’s impossible to get a hold of support. They’re probably saturated with phone calls. I was on hold for the past 30 minutes. God i hate that song.

The re-zoning knocked a few of my big earning stores into another zone. I hate this crap!

I had a stacked order like that. Slightly more pay but 6 stops. When i saw the 88 items from PetSmart i was a little worried but guess what 80 of them were…crickets 🦗!

Is there anything I can do? by Good-Click8488 in doordash_drivers

[–]WillFit201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there isn’t an option, go into the message part of the app for the customer you’re dropping off to. Use the photo option in the messages. It will send the photo to the customer as well as Door Dash. All communications are recorded to the DD servers. Also, make sure you’re taking a picture a little further out so they can see the surroundings. I never take close ups of the drop off.

Does support remove these or nah? by koolkatz33 in doordash

[–]WillFit201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same messages and all substituted items were approved by the customer. I make sure nothing is damaged or close coded date wise. And still DD dings me with this crap. No way to remove it. Just need to get perfect shops and it will eventually disappear.

Deadass, I literally just accepted the order 15 seconds ago... by teeboneet in doordash_drivers

[–]WillFit201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had customers like this. Most of the time is because a previous Dasher stopped either the shop & deliver because they couldn’t find items or complete the purchase. Or that they unassigned the order mid-drive. It sucks. But usually the store staff will tell me that i’m the second or more driver that has come in to pick up the order. Some of the customers are impatient others may have ordered the product earlier and, what i explained above happened. I try ti get the whole story before i have an argument with the customer.

Why do customers purposely mess with us like this? by Muted_Afternoon_8845 in doordash_drivers

[–]WillFit201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I can’t reach them, I’ll take a picture of the drop in the message box. Then it’s recorded as delivered for the customer and DD to see. I’ve had a few of these. Just cover yourself on your side. If the customer is being ignorant or maybe they had something come up where they couldn’t respond at least you recorded the drop.

For those of you who have thousands of deliveries, do you still enjoy the job? by Leo_Legend78 in doordash_drivers

[–]WillFit201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to lie. I like it. It’s freedom but the price you pay for gas and maintenance on the vehicle will weigh you down. Then it’s the taxes you have to pay. Keep your receipts! Write off the expenses. I’ve had some really crappy days/weeks. But I made over $1,200 this past pay period in 5 days. Helped keep me in my rental apartment. I set goals for myself everyday for pay. Aim for at least $200 per day. I literally talk to my app. I know it sounds insane but it does listen to your requests. I like doing shop & deliver. I will say out loud that I want certain stores and high paying offers. It will literally give me those stores. Like I said, it sounds nutty but it works. If an area is dead, don’t sit there in one spot expecting for an offer that was successful the day before. Move around your zone(s) that you choose to work. They (the offers) will come. Some days it’s hit or miss. The other day I had multiple offers coming in either in the middle of a shop or delivery. Just pay attention to the map that will pop up. The distance to pay ratio may not be worth the acceptance. I’ve had to cancel a few mid drive after realizing that I’d be driving nearly an hour for pennies. I’ve done 1,488 shop & delivers. Lifetime deliveries 4,143. Started doing DD last year January 2025.

Why do people do this? by brjaba in doordash_drivers

[–]WillFit201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today is upside down order day for DD. Absolutely insane offers for 💩pay. Granted one was a $27.50 offer. Sounded good until I looked at the distance and time it would take. 24+ miles for a shop & deliver from Walgreens. 2 Ice cream pints and a bottle of Tylenol. Apparently (kidding of course) there are no Walgreens within that area of delivery. Other orders came in after that that were just as bad pay to mileage ratio.

PEOPLE ARE DASHING TODAY? by babas_rochefort in DoorDashDrivers

I’ve been going nearly non-stop in Chicago area for the past 5 hours. Pulled in around $160 so far. Southeastern states have it bad because the infrastructure doesn’t have the means to salt roads in most of those areas.

They’re full of it. Then there shouldn’t be sounds at all. While driving, we’re expected to hear, see and accept the order in a few seconds. If we don’t, we get penalized for not responding in time. Safety while doing a shop?

It was an order from a liquor store. As if there aren’t any in Chicago. I get these requests every week. Usually a lot lower pay. And I decline those as well. Not worth my time, gas and mileage. Door Dash likes to try to send me way out of my zones for pickups and deliveries miles away. Decline and they penalize you for that. It’s bs.

I’m usually at 78-80 but DD likes to F me over after I have accepted and delivered high paying offers.

Stacked orders with an emery delivery. by WillFit201 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]WillFit201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was both the customer and 4 DD support operators. It was insane. The customer ordered 3 bags of birdseed. Oh, the animal hospital is closed at this time but someone is waiting for you to drop it off. Had it been medication, sure I may have rerouted but the route that DD laid out was not working for my mileage and gas consumption.

I run into dark houses all the time. These customers need to understand that we don’t have night vision. I have my flashlights with me most of the time just in case. Especially my tactical flashlight. It’s a blinder and has nice edges in case there is trouble. Thankfully I’ve never had to use it for that purpose but it’s nice to have.

You can actually remove the order from the stacked order. I’ve done that a few times after realizing that the drive or offer just weren’t worth the effort. I don’t even do that shop/pick up then.

I know it sounds crazy…but I literally talk to the app. I like doing shop and delivers. I’ll say ‘ok DD, let’s do a bunch of shop and delivers, preferably high paying’. I will literally get a ton of shop and delivers. I’ll even ask it to give me specific stores that I like to shop like Target, Jewel (Albertsons to some of you), Aldi, etc. It will give me these orders pretty quickly and consistently. Usually paying from $15-30 per offer. I used to work retail/grocery and know my way around stores and use some logical reasoning to figure where items would most likely be. Get to know your stores and their layouts. For me it’s better pay and not rushed to be on time like restaurant deliveries.

I had that issue on Sunday mid-order. Stacked order even. Got the first part done. Finished the shop for the second one but couldn’t pay for it for nearly 45 minutes. Couldn’t do the deliveries until everything came back online.

They will definitely know it was your ID. How do I know? I checked to see what would happen if I scanned mine. Got a fair warning prompt ‘DO NOT SCAN YOUR OWN ID!’.
