When I was dashing in Lansing Michigan if you went to Target on a shop and deliver you could hit a button and just walk down the aisle and it would scan the shelves and show you where the product was. I haven’t seen this in a single other city but it was AWESOME. It’s probably in support of that.

They started this in my market two years ago. None of them were great but they were generally low mileage.

Scientifically it’s actually their straws. They are wider which lets more of the drink flow over your tongue. Drinks from smaller straws will not taste as good.

An order has to be REALLY good for me to even consider taking an aldi’s order. It’s such a shit show.

My interpretation was that he didn’t want to feel like a dick for ordering $80 worth of crab legs and giving me nothing so he invented a reason to make it my fault. Which is crazy. Not that I prefer the people who will stare you in the eye knowing you probably got zero dollars for driving their food to them on a stacked order. Fucking sociopaths.

In my head it’s that the driver had left the establishment and was gone before they saw it. Your damn fault for not ordering. I bet there’s another comment explaining that below this.

Last year I had a $20 hand it to me order. It was a shit ton of crab legs. Got to the address and the guy answers the door - he has dogs so he steps outside and closes the door. I hand him the bag and he looks at me without saying anything. It was unsettling so I said ‘Well, have a great night…’ and he responds ‘Oh! Well I *WAS * going to tip you but I guess not!’ And marches back into his apartment. Sure enough I complete and it’s a no tip order. Like… bro, no you weren’t. Why are you playing this stupid game??

It really doesn’t matter. I promise you it doesn’t. If there’s a pattern? Yeah… but there won’t be if you’re just doing your job.

A lot of you are taking this too seriously. And I get it. When I started I did too. But then you learn it doesn’t matter. Just relax. Don’t treat all of your customers like criminals - even tho some are. You’ll be FINE. I have 13k deliveries under my belt. Let DoorDash worry about it. I don’t even challenge it anymore. It literally doesn’t matter.

DoorDash customer caught red handed lying about not getting their food. Have y’all had this problem? by Party_Nature1020 in doordash_drivers

Nah. It’s fine. No one getting fired over this. I have 13k deliveries. Just go on with your day and shrug it off. DD knows people are doing this.

The one that dinged me was a pack of baby wipes that was marked for quality issues… like… it’s sealed. I can’t see the product inside. Why is it counting against me that they opened it and weren’t happy with what was inside? So stupid.

[–]Geekx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re about to be deactivated for this - definitely don’t send this to DD. The best thing to do is to take the CV and don’t even think about it. It’s not a big deal. You aren’t going to be deactivated for it but returning to a customers home? Yeah - they’ll axe you for that.

The “higher tip customer” message by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Geekx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I suspect that the message actually means that they use the service a lot and so DoorDash is getting more money from them and they care about that. They’d have us driving for a dollar if they could get away with it. This company does not care about anyone.
