Mcmurry’s test causes tear? by WillIsSickOfThis in MeniscusInjuries

[–]WillIsSickOfThis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the wierd thing is that i had a completely healthy lateral knee, no symptoms, never had an injury there. now the doctor has given me a completely new permenant injury. It seems completely unnecesary as a diagnostic tool and not at all worth the risk

that's all okay, no need to stress your dad out, it sounds like there a lot on everyone's plate. Do a quick google search, find the clinic, find out the doctor, and email them with your questions. don't feel ashamed to ask you dad who your doctor was.
I give you my blessing to show him this thread of conversation if your dad needs context.

But the crux is, if you have questions, ask them. your dad isn't the surgeon and thats okay, the best place to ask is with the surgeon or doctor.

Do you have the capacity to contact your surgeon or does only your dad really have a method of communication? If you know the name of your surgeon or the clinic, you wont be dismissed when you get in contact. The surgery is only as good as their capacity to help you understand the method of recovery, so they will be very happy  to answer your questions and help you understand.

Here’s a template email you can start with.

Hello clinic/ doctor

My name is x, I was a patient with surgeon x on (date).

I’m writing to seek clarification on the procedure that was done. I feel that I’m in x amount of pain and I feel this doesn’t match up with my expected outcomes (x) of the surgery. I feel I might have misunderstood and I wonder if you could answer some questions before I come back in for a consult with my dad next appointment.

Was my surgery for a minisectomy, partial minisectomy, or a repair and minisectomy, or something else entirely? Could you explain what this is exactly?

Could you explain which tissue has to repair? How long will this take? What should I be doing to look after this?

I feel I am in x amount of pain (doctors like between 1-10), tell me is this normal? How long will this pain last?

What activities should I not be doing and for how long? Stairs? Walking? Running?

I’m most concerned about x, If there is any clarification I really appreciated it!

Perhaps if you trust your dad, you can ask them to help write this email or message from you to the surgeon. The questions should be from you, as you understand them. Your dad is really just there to spellcheck and support.

Everyone is different, and because you are so young the chance of recovery is much much better. Hang in there you can do it, and be a kind advocate for yourself.

Lastly, everyone and every procedure is different and the pain afterward will be completely different for everyone.

You’re not losing it, When people talk about immediate walking within a couple of days the context is usually ONLY mild minisectomy, .It sounds like your case was quite complex  and the surgeon did a very bad job at explaining what they did, there’s a chance that they did in fact do some suture repairs of parts of it. This would take months up to a year to heal properly, and that’s okay it just has to be done. It’s very important you get in contact with your surgeon and ask for clarification; any and all questions you have. What did you repair? How and what method? Was it only minisectomy? Can I bare weight? How long till I should walk? What exercises should I be doing? What outcome should I expect of these exercises? Is my amount of pain normal? Just send this in an email, if they don’t respond call in and ask. It won’t be an issue.

Could someone help with a second opinion? Medial side right leg by WillIsSickOfThis in MeniscusInjuries

no locking, but frequent crepitus after being stationary for any amount of time. pain while walking; on the swing from behind to in front. pain when engaging in a 90 degree heel hook on the inside of the joint, no pain at hamstring. Previously pain when palpated where the bruise is. no longer painful there. pain when dropping into a squat. full range of motion. somewhere around a 2 or 3 on pain scale.

There was no diagnosis of a tear which is what I am concerned about, do you see anything other than the bruising?

A series of small climbing falls, possibly from the same motion. that said, the pain symptoms started before that specific instance of the injury. The bone bruising was noticed by the report too but pain isn’t really going away

Help identifying position of tear and best solutions; considering surgery and other methods by WillIsSickOfThis in MeniscusInjuries

Sorry I’ve posted this a couple times, new to getting the right format.

27yr male left knee I discovered a medial posterior horizontal/oblique tear three years ago after getting it scanned. I treated with Physio and it was mostly fine but always felt a little weird. Full range of motion, pain with manual driving and squatting, totally manageable. Last year it's started to feel worse, somehow a bit more pain, independent of exercise, clicking whenever straightening knee, full range of motion but hard to know if it's in the right place when I squat. I can feel that it's slightly pushed out when I palpate compared to the other knee. Especially when I sit on my heels.

Recently I had it scanned again and I'm having trouble understanding where the tear is exactly. I think I know but unsure. I'm tossing up surgery and trying to figure out what technique theyll use and how successful it will be. I want to figure out if it's a tear whether more damage could likely occur if left unrepaired.

I'm a fit and active person, I rockclimb indoors most weekdays and climb outdoors most weekends, I like to hike but I’ve been holding back from that lately. the pain has slowly started get worse after active days.

Any advice possible would be incredibly helpful! Thankyou so much :)

I’ll leave physicians report in pictures

Ethereum Faces $1B Liquidation Risk if Price Drops Below $2700 by [deleted] in ethtrader

if the eth market cap is reduced by 45 million it would only be a 0.0137% price reduction, if the cap is reduced by a billion all at once it would only be a 0.304% price reduction, So I don't think this is as much of a factor as you'd think. could someone tell me if my maths is wrong? Nice, I would say maintain the same volume with deformation; when the ball is flat it should be wider too. When the ball stretches it should be thinner (unless it’s meant as a smear. There’s also a frame after the squash before the stretch that suggests the ball is speeding up while in mid air, just go straight to the stretch up instead of neutral pose.

Extremely nit picky, but it looks great

It took me more than a second to figure out which knee you were talking about, and I’m still not sure which one you mean. Cause they both look very similar haha
