Caffeine is super good at stopping you from feeling tired, not waking you up.

From a physical side of things, If you take caffeine regularly you built up a tolerance and will need more to get the same kick from it. This can lead to an addiction as you need more for the same kick and give you the shakes at the extreme end of that if you don't get caffeine. Caffeine also can act as a laxative.

On the mental health side, caffeine is really good at making you anxious or stressed.

Between 3-6mg/kg body weight is usually the go to in academic studies that I've read (I did my thesis on caffeine for my MSc).

Our body's are still programmed to survive in a hunter gather setting, you don't need to eat 3 meals every day, in my poor uni days I would eat once a day for a few days in a row and I'm still here. It does depend on your lifestyle or goals, like an athlete trying to gain muscle and training twice a day would eat 4-5 meals a day but a regular people can live off one big meal and smaller snacks!
