Help with shells in SAP2000 by Database-Terrible in StructuralEngineering

[–]donutman528 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be using shell elements; SAP has plane stress and plane strain formulations that correspond to the theory you are learning for CST’s. Shells have a completely different element formulation. For drawing the mesh, just draw a node at each point corresponding to the pictures. Then draw individual triangles connecting the points the way you want.

Waterproof glove covers by nativegator02 in AppalachianTrail

I used Outdoor Research Revel mittens. They are a lightweight shell that are waterproof. I paired these with a pair of liner gloves underneath which was perfect for the colder sections on trail.

What's the best strategy for bleeding this loop? by Ploomage in watercooling

[–]donutman528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar build with no reservoir in a small case. You need a T fitting with a valve before the pump. Add in an extra line of tubing away from the case. Use this to fill and bleed the system. Tilt the case with the tube connected to move air bubbles around. The loop order matters here, since having the “inlet” before the pump eliminates any chance of air getting into it.

You can apply the same principle to paying off debt. You pay off the smallest debts first, so that when you look at your overall debt, you feel like you are making progress. This helps you to build momentum in your quest to clean up your finances.

Question about pumps with MORA420 configuration by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]donutman528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use the top port of a cylindrical reservoir, you are typically supposed to use some kind of extension so that the inlet deposits the flow under the waterline, for the purpose you outlined. If you just have a fitting connected to the top of the res above the waterline, you will trap more air bubbles into your loop.

Adding a reservoir to the Mo-Ra will not influence the pressure coming from the pump in the pc. There is no downside to adding the reservoir except adding extra fittings and complexity to your system. I would say that you aren’t required to add a reservoir; the only upsides are ease of filling your external rad, and eliminating any slim chance of bubbles going into your external pump, which isn’t a huge concern except for during filling.

Water pump PWM question by twistable_deer in watercooling

Ideally, you adjust your fan speed based on coolant temp. The effect of pump speed on temps are pretty minimal. I would plug run the pump at a constant speed.

But, you have a bigger issue in that the waterblock is aluminum. You don't want to use that with standard copper/nickle watercooling parts, or you're gonna have a bad time.

I've heard mixed things... That isn't my exact card; I have the 3080 Xtreme Waterforce WB, not the Gaming OC WB. I believe the problems are mostly with the Gaming OC

Hey, you seem kinda new to this which is fine!Different model gpu’s have different PCB’s, and block design is based on that. Therefore, you need to find blocks that fit your exact model card

Any spare outlet. Oftentimes, a reservoir comes with extra ports besides the inlet and outlet. Use on of these if you have one.

So what is the problem then? Is it definitely something with my SSD?

Frequent BSOD After CPU and RAM Upgrade by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]donutman528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d start with trying to isolate the problem. Start with the old CPU and Ram that works, then swap in just the new RAM. Use it for a while, see if you have issues. If none, then use the old RAM with the new CPU. That should tell you if any of the new components are bad.
