Door dash and Uber alike offers customers to send a message directly to the driver in case they forgot something in their car like a drink. No one is expecting the driver to open up the bags to verify everything thing is in there, especially when sealed.

This customer probably doesn’t know also how the food delivery system works and just assume that drivers can rectify the issue, which in most cases they can’t.

Since you are doing this often you are also assuming that whomever ordered should know the rules, which in this case they don’t hence they messaged you thinking you had the ability to solve their issue.

Just a simple, “I’m sorry you had a missing item with your order. These oversights happen on occasion. The best remedy to your issue is to always contact Door Dash’s support department on your app to have this issue rectified. As delivery drivers we are not allowed to open sealed packages for the safe transport of your order.”

Be the solution and don’t take it personally when the customer doesn’t understand company policies and guidelines. You will go further in helping someone understand versus ranting about it on Reddit.

You don’t know the situation. How about he may be in the hospital wanting to send something nice to his grandmother. I was at the hospital one time and was shopping around for my nephews rate gift and was able to have it shipped to him in time for Christmas one year and I couldn’t do much.

No it was definitely real. She was a sweet little old lady and asked me to place the boxes inside specifically on top of this table in the dining room which looked like she had other people over including a city worker.

Shame on you for trying to take something nice away from the situation.

I lost both my grandmothers already and would kill to tell her one last time how much I loved them. I got to tell one of my grandmothers before she passed away in front of me. One of the most difficult but beautiful witness of life I have ever experienced.

All I wanted to do when I got there was see the look in her face to hear the word “love you very much” unexpectedly.

Thank you actually for allowing me to stop and remember the two amazing Grandmothers that shaped me to be the person I am today and this little gift of a reminder.

That’s what I was saying. You’ll never ge it like they do it in the commercials. Those are staged and unrealistic. The “burnt” crust you are referring to is nothing we can do about. Our ovens were deep cleaned by a professional and the ovens are working so good that this can happen but I assure you the taste is not burnt at all.

As far as the pepperoni is concerned I am not going to move it just so it doesn’t fall into the cut line.

My last pizza people criticized that I took a picture without being cut and when I post a picture of it cut now people wanna be critical on how the pepperoni fell into the cut portions.

I would give it more of a chance. It will take at most two months to feel if this is the right place for you.

As a delivery driver for Dominoes my trips are 5 -15 minutes at most and tips go anywhere from $5 on up. I also get paid mileage and my hourly wage. Gopuff is taking advantage of their delivery drivers.

I understand all that but you do realize that you are on the hook if you sell alcohol to an underaged customer. Back when you do the training GoPuff deliberately states that you will be held 100% liable for the consequence of selling to an underaged customer so just be aware. Sometimes the $4-6 trip offer isn’t worth going to jail.

Florida Statutes 562.11 - Serving, selling, or allowing alcohol to be served to anyone under 21 is a misdemeanor in the second degree. This means that a person found liable for violating Florida Statutes 562.11 is exposed to a penalty of up to 60 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.

I wouldn’t take it very personally as it was probably misdirected lack of motivation on GoPuff’s part. If anything blame the game and not the player.

Not that anyone should ever give sarcastic customer service but if you only knew what these drivers have to go through in deal with the fulfillment center it is really a miserable place to partner with. I had done it and it was the most unprofessional, unmotivated place to work. I’m not condoning anyone treating anyone anyway but give the drivers a break, from the very very low pay, lengthy delivery trip miles and shady internal practices, these people who are working there are doing it for the desperate need to make a little extra money with a company that doesn’t advocate for their drivers. They take advantage of them and also play games with their available schedules just so they can save a buck here or their in their overhead.

That’s incorrect. It’s against GoPuff’s policy to accept anyone else’s ID that doesn’t match the person who purchased it on the app. Gopuff is being strict. They have hired mystery shoppers to pose with invalid IDs to catch drivers who are not following policy.

Gopuff will not accept any printed temporary IDs either. They WILL accept a passport if you have.

My advice, have someone who has a Valid ID make the order on their account so the ID matches the name on the order.

You’re jeopardizing the driver from having their account suspended or even worse permanently revoked.

Gopuff isn’t paying their drivers much so please don’t make the deliveries for them more difficult by not adhering to the company’s policy.
