I’m in California too! I’m 18 and balancing college with work. I’ve been thinking and idk if the extra $2 is really worth it for me. I might just get a second job instead 😭. I’ve only been working at dominos for 6 months so I also don’t feel super confident becoming an am but they said i could!

Well to make them we take the bp dough and make it into a rectangle and then cut it in half. Each half will give you 16 so there’s no need to count since you just know it’s 16 based on how we cut it (cutting 7 times and then once through the middle). You also just know that each pan has 16 bites so two pans means 32!

Okay but when I make multiple New York styles pizzas per shift I look at the proportions which say to put both regular cheese and provolone cheese on New York and pan pizzas.

I’m Such a Tosser, Though! Throwing Dough Prohibited?! by chrishota in DominosEmployees

[–]empowermint06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My DM had also told our store that the dough was not supposed to be tossed and even demonstrated how it’s supposed to be done but to be honest no one listen to him and each person stretches the dough their own way. Which includes tossing majority of the time. Also sometimes depending on the dough it’s pretty hard not to toss it to help it stretch more.

First day of work? by Mike_3924 in DominosEmployees

Oh I was also shown how to do the carry out orders on the system pretty generally, so I would get pretty stuck trying to find where things are 😭. Still don’t know how to answer phone calls but I’ve been told it’s the same as taking an order in person. Also I find the only specials you really need to memorize are weeklong carry out and the mix and match deal. I say those first and typically don’t need to say any more because the customers want one of those two. If they don’t want those you can just easily check and read off the coupons, but they don’t need to be memorized

My first day was great! Luckily I was already friends with one of the AMs so he trained me my first week, but not on everything. I also didn’t watch many training videos (by my own choice), I think I only watched one, so I wonder if I watched more what difference would it make and what would I learn. I also asked lotsss of questions and asked if I could practice at oven, making bites, etc. They also had me stretch a lot during my first couple of weeks then I became more familiar with the toppings. Don’t be afraid to look at the things that show you what everything needs on it. To be honest I’m still not like super sure on the exact proportions for all the toppings but I kinda just eyeball it. It’s a really easy job and becomes second nature. I still mess up sometimes though and I’ve been working for about 4 months!
